I ordered mini burrito with chicken and a regular burrito with pork. I was given two burritos that were the same size and there was indication of what meat was in each burrito. Both burritos were mediocre at best.

We stopped for lunch, I forgot my camera so no photos of the delicious regular sized burritos we ate. You build your own burritos, choice of protein, cheese, beans and sauces. They offer a mini burrito 🌯 too and build your own tacos and salads too.
We had chicken, the meat was tender and the regular sized burritos was just right for a lunch stop. We ordered a bag of corn chips and mild salsa too, you have a choice on chips too, they offer them made of flour too, with mild medium or hot salsa on side. We got 2 cans of soda too and all for just about $27 until they gave us the special discount they are offering each Saturday in August, 1/2 off order! For just about $17 we ate well and will stop here again even without the special offer. We recommend and next time I’ll bring my phone for pics.
It was counter ordering and seat yourself & bust your own table but that’s fine. I’d be curious to try another protein at our next visit.
It was a warm summer day, the fans were in and it was comfortable inside not sure if they had AC and they offered picnic tables right outside their door.

I saw this on the map and was not planning to visit at first but when we walked by we decided to give it a go. What a great decision that was. Instant hungry hit us with the smell and they immediately served us some delicious tacos and burritos that went down too fast 😂

Not a lot to distinguish. I wouldn't avoid it, but I wouldn't drive past a Chipotle to get here.

$11 breakfast burrito turns into almost $17 when you add chorizo. Pretty good, but just not worth it.

The one star is due to employees not changing gloves or removing gloves prior to touching money. Gloves are not there to protect your hands from the food, but to protect the food from everything your hands touch. 4th time getting sick from here, last time I'll be going. Otherwise flavor of food is great, it's clean in the dining area and the workers are very polite.

Bowl didn’t have much of any flavor. The rice was long grain (odd choice) and soupy. Tacos were also soupy but not too bad. Unfortunately, not for me.

Being from Texas, I was worried that Bowling For Soup's line in "Come Back To Texas" about Mexican Food North of Texas was going to hold true. I'm pleased to say that it does not in the case of this Avocado Pit.
I've gotten the Burrito and The Street Tacos and found them both to be perfectly fine compared to what we had in Texas. Being completely honest, the salsa could stand to be spicier, but it's not enough of an issue to take away from the quality of the food imo.
The atmosphere is fantastic, with the restaurant being in a historic building, and the location is great for anyone with consistent business downtown.
The staff is awesome. Good people who know what they're serving and treat it with the respect it deserves, and the pricing is comparable to Chipotle without feeling like a cheap knock off.
Honestly, I'll give this place a Texan's seal of approval. It's not necessarily "authentic" Tex-Mex, but it's good enough that it'd fit in down in Austin.

Vegetarian options: Not Vegan by any means, but there's enough on the menu that you could have a respectable meal without getting meat. Perfectly fitting for any White Meat Only "Vegetarians."
