Maybe it’s because they were out of tofu scramble when I was there but I found the food incredibly mid. I got the falafel sandwich, it was edible but not good. It was one giant falafel and so wet and mushy throughout. The tahini was also weird, tasted like it was mixed with soy sauce. But the veggies on the sandwich were fresh and good, and the coffee was decent. I wouldn’t necessarily go back for the food, but the vibe was a trip and at least they had vegan options.

While coming back to western NY, we made a side trip to Bennington and started to look for somewhere to eat. So, went to Google and found this great place, Blue Benn. An original diner since 1948 - but let me tell you. FANTASTIC from the moment you walk in the door until you try to roll yourself out the door from eating some much wonderful food. From the fried homemade donut to the best omelette ever (which has sour cream in it - who knew). The pricing made me want to get one of each thing on the menu (which is 4 pages of yummyness). And---- the best thing was that they treated you like family. Kudos to Chelsea from the two old ladies from Western NY. The next time I go back to NH, I'm heading to the Blue Benn on the way! Perfect ending to our trip.

The tofu scramble is vegan as long as you get the bread dry (without butter/margarine). Tofu has a nice curry flavor and is mixed with mushrooms, tomatoes, broccoli and potatoes! Very happy and impressed that a diner like this has a vegan option😄

We had high expectations based on everything we read about this place and they exceeded them all. We all ordered something different and loved our meals. We had a variety- blueberry pancakes, omelet, home fries, muffins and coffee. They offered to grill our muffin….don’t miss out on this deliciousness. Everyone had great customer service skills and seems to get along well. They don’t mess around either. As soon as the waitresses see food, they rush to get it to you when it’s piping hot! The cook’s energy was infectious. He clearly enjoys what he does. He’s been working here since he was 18, I think our waitress said. I am sure that contributes to the consistency in their tasty food. You may have a wait but I can see why. It’s totally worth it. Don’t miss your opportunity to experience this amazing diner. My picture of outside is 6am but there was a full parking lot and wait around 11am almost everyday that we were there.

Always a good meal. No fuss and no frills.

An authentic diner with an incredible menu, & breakfast all day.
I ordered the huevos rancheros, & asked to have it on home fries instead of a tortilla, & added spinach. Wow! It was a mountain of food, enough for 4 people, & some men asked the waitress what I had ordered, & said they are getting that next time.
The home fries are the best around, fresh red potatoes with onions (& peppers?) grilled crispy brown, black beans, spinach, pico, green chili salsa, cheddar cheese, two poached eggs, & a slice of avocado.
The waitress was sweet, attentive, & fast, despite the place being full & bustling.
I ate what I could & only took a small container of leftovers home. I was able to make breakfast with them for 3 more days.
Delicious!

Counter waitress had a compromised attitude that was not pleasant and I hope it was just a bad day. Veggie omelette was good but overdone with cheese. Mediocre coffee. Run of the mill diner meal.

No frills, awesome food. Why are you still reading this review when you could be eating their pancakes?

An adorable little local diner with great breakfast and atmosphere at ridiculously reasonable prices!

never seen what I had this morning called an omelet, a large flat piece of cooked egg layed on top of a pile of filling, not very hot, not an omelet for sure!

This is a true diner in Bennington. There are a few booths but sit at the counter and be served by some real professionals. There are several excellent vegetarian options here.

Vegetarian options: There is a whole section of the menu loaded with vegetarian selections.

Parking: Large parking lot with plenty of parking around the restaurant.

We were traveling through and decided to stop here due to the good reviews and the aesthetic. We must've hit them on a bad night because we weren't super impressed. The waitresses kept forgetting things (brought 2 waters even through there were 3 of us, walked away while my husband was asking for ketchup, only brought 2 sets of silverware so we ended up having to go grab our own and condiments because we got tired of waiting, and asked twice for a box, then sat and waited while the waitress kept talking to people and walking right by us). The food was alright but, the service sucked and it felt dirty...

The dirtiest place i ever been to. First thing i saw after sitting down was a piece of pie with flies on it. Staff were non friendly. Food i had was the worst i ever had in my life. No flavor, not even any salt in it. The whole place was so crowded. Saw the waitress spoon with the spoon end and handing over to people. Also she was opening and checking burgers with her hand to check inside. First of all her hands are touching everything else in that place. This is my honest review. I will never recommend or go back ?
