I want to give this place 3 1/2 stars. The banh mi was delicious! It came with a side of "kettle cooked" chips that were so stale, they were inedible. Also, the pile of chips were crumbs and my husband joked about needing a spoon to eat them. Also, the service could use an improvement :/.

Surprisingly good salads and a friendly, casual vibe. A bit hard to find but worth searching out.

We went for lunch today and the waitress with the slicked-back hair and red lipstick seemed unable to connect with people -- just coming to tables and saying, almost with irritation, what the order was -- not noticing who had something in front of them. It was disturbing. And, I know this is a first world complaint, but when I order a toasted bagel I expect it to be toasted and not just warmed. And on a gray day in Bennington this place just makes it worse -- low lighting, cold and noisy. Won't be returning.

Great good and atmosphere. The quiche was delish, classic. Staff was friendly but being oit of state we had to ask another customer how to order our food.

I was pleased by a tasty bagel sandwich, wifi, and a good space to work on my laptop. Looking forward to trying more from the menu!

Type of cafe: order and pay at the counter, food is brought to you, clear your own table. Atmosphere: quaint, nothing fancy, clean enough, staff can be heard from the kitchen with sometimes colorful (not kid-friendly) language, alternative music playing (not loudly), seems pretty popular, could get very noisy depending on crowd size and individuals behavior. Loud kitchen. Menu: limited breakfast, sandwich, and salad choices, some good healthy choices and (of course, it is a cafe) espresso and coffee drinks. My food was creative and tasty and coffee was good. I didn't get much for the cost, though. Prices: reasonable, but a bit high for the times (be careful when paying by credit card, tip of 15% is automatic and you really don't get more than counter service). Service: very young (immature). Hours: minimal and odd. Not sure if I will come back. The food was pretty good and pretty fast, but I wasn't really feeling the atmosphere and service.

Great find! Thanks, Yelp! There were many choices, lots of vegetarian options, even some gluten free, although our choices were not GF. My husband had an Asiago bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese. I had a ginger scone that was excellent -- moist, perfectly baked and not too sweet. I also had an avocado on multi-grain toast with lime, also yummy. The avocado was the perfect ripeness. They had a great selection of teas and coffees. We had lavender London Fogs that hit the spot on a cool rainy day. The atmosphere was relaxed and casual, and the staff was friendly and helpful. A number of guests had small well-behaved children with them and the bathroom accommodated that choice. We will definitely return next time we are in the Bennington area.

Such a charming, quality food conscious eatery! The trouble is that you want to taste it all! Not so good if you are dieting! The apricot ginger scone was an earthly delight. The breakfast burrito was so tasty and satisfying. A must stop food haven!

Fantastic fresh food. Lots of gluten free options including sandwiches and wraps. The breakfast bowl was wonderful, balanced and just right

Very nice visually.. the veggies are fresh... the ones I could find for a $9.00 wrap. Basically I just ate bread, which I could have bought at the store for $ 1.99...

Every year 40 of my closest friends and I roll through here on a group trip. The staff is always super friendly, patient, and accommodating. The food is fresh and delicious. Wouldn't want to pit stop anywhere else.

This little shop may be hard to find, but it is worth it. Their espresso is great - a hard to find thing, and they have a vegan menu! The breakfast burrito is really good with the right amount of spice to take care of my tastebuds.

Amazing Egg Sandwhiches and coffee. My team and I treat ourselves every Friday.

Just had lunch here. The girl behind the counter was sweet and made a solid recommendation for a salad that was great (Thai salad). About halfway through my lunch break, a very "curt" woman rushed the table and scared me half to death, and said something and put a laminated note on the table in front of me. Whatever was going on, she was not happy. Apparently you're not allowed to talk on the phone at this restaurant and she was very pissed off that I was doing so. There were no signs posted, that I saw anyway, staying that cell phones were verboten here, or I probably would've just found somewhere else to eat from the outset. I worked for 28 years in restaurant at every level and even got some press in the New Yorker once, and at one point owned my own successful restaurant consulting business, and this was a completely new experience for me. Surely, now I've seen it all? Being on business, I need to talk on the phone when I can, and lunch break is a valuable moment that all traveling business people utilize for this purpose. This particular call was my vice president. It took the edge off that he was as incredulous as I was. A star for the nice counter girl, a star for the salad. 2 stars deducted for the mean lady and one star deducted for a great-for-$9-but-not-great-for-$14 salad. Whatever you do, do not come here if you need to make the most of your lunch break. I truly hate posting negative reviews.
