Wow, my wife found this on a whim for our anniversary. Salad Bar was phenomenal, we almost filled up on it. Food was delicious and we both took home an extra meal.
Service was excellent, especially with all the tables she was covering!
Cannot recommend enough, we can't wait to come back!
Oh and Kettle One is the well vodka...

Our experience was outstanding! Our hostess seated us by a beautiful window, our appetizer of mussels was outstanding, salad bar was very tasty and entrees of shrimp scampi over linguine and another of turkey was delicious! Our server, Nicole was fantastic and it was a great meal!

The atmosphere was beautiful and had great views. We waited for an hour for our food, which was fine. The fish was mushy, and we had to wait another 15 min before they found two bake potato's for us. There was nothing but a tiny bit of sour cream for two potatoes for us to share. The fish basket was cold as well. For the price charged I definitely expected more or better quality. Still a beautiful place to have dinner with stunning views.

While we had a reservation for 14 people, shortly thereafter a group of 100 people came in. After that, we didn't see our waiter for 30 minutes. Most of us had to walk up to the bar to get a drink
The waiter took our food order, and 90 minutes later, most of our group was quite upset. Nice food. No bread.
We complained to anyone we could see, and finally the food started to trickle put a little bit at a time. One of our members got her hamburger after everyone in our table had finished eating. One couple was smart and left after 1 hr of waiting.
Getting the check also took forever. Most of us, left money on the table and walked out.
Completely understaffed for a lg event. Some business people need to learn to say NO to to a reservation when it's going to be over their head.
Nobody wins. We certainly not return.

First time to the Publyk House. Boy, the prime rib special was incredible. I really am craving it now. If you haven't tried it, please do yourself a favor and go.

People were there, a guy came to the door as I was walking in. He told me they were “closed” at 8:15 when they’re supposedly open till 9!
Make reservations for the outside patio! Amazing sunset views and delicious food.

The reviews are pretty accurate. I thought it was nearly perfect, great food, build your own salad bar(part of the meal), reasonable price and the atmosphere is topnotch. Great views and cozy feeling.

Dinner at 6:30 last evening. Very crowded at that time. Line to salad bar, very long. But it was worth the wait. Salad bar is always very fresh and has everything I like. Entrees were perfect and their maple butter and table bread is delightful. Love this place!
We go to The Publyk House every visit to Bennington. The value is 5 star with entrees being large, the salad bar being included, and the fresh bread with maple butter. Jake a reservation if your visiting in the fall - they are consistently busy during peak foliage season. I ordered the smoked meat this time which is irdered as 1 to 5 meats. I picked 3 thinking it would be an average size and it was enough to feed two hungry guys! My wife orders the salmon most visits and really enjoys it.
The salad bar is extensive and comes with all entrées and tavern menu. Delicious flaky bread is brought to the table with yummy maple butter. The menu offers really dining options at competitive prices. After mounds of fresh salad, the three of us each had perfectly cooked top sirloin with baked potato (butter and sour cream) and fresh vegetables, fish and chips served in a newspaper-like wrapper with coleslaw and tartar sauce (malt vinegar was available), and roast turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce and fresh vegetables. All so delicious! The dessert and drinks menus looked fantastic, but we decided against both. We can't recommend The Publyk House enough! The best restaurant in southern Vermont!
Pretty terrible. Extremely overpriced for what it is. Poor to average food, poor to average service, extremely long wait for food (nearly an hour from order to food on table, with no acknolwedgment or apology). If it was a quarter to a third the price, that would be about the right ballpark for this level of restaurant.
The dessert menu looks nice but after being ignored by our server for the whole dinner, we just wanted to leave soon. Medium steak was totally well done and very dry.I can’t believe it is worth more than $30….
