Foods really good here for a diner. Fresh for what it is. The in house service is excellent and so is food and atmosphere but I gave 2 stars for service because they never answer the phone. If they do, you're left on hold, so take out service is terrible. I dont always have time to go sit in so that's a serious bummer.

The Wayside is consistently good! I had their fried whole belly clams, which aren't easy to come by near us, and they were excellent. The rolls and desserts are homemade and we enjoyed them very much!

Decent food, typical diner. I did have a hair under my toast but they took it off the bill. the pancake had pure maple syrup for no extra charge that might be typical in northern vt. Price was good and looked like they were trying to keep the place clean

Within 10 minutes I felt the grease in the walls - we were seating next to the register and the man running it was also chafing out customers and his wait staff. He was unkind , ungrateful and looking over their shoulders. I heard him questioning the waitstaff who had to do what they could with the bill if the customer was dissatisfied with the food … our food was cold A luckily they were able to nuke it quick enough - but I had a bad feeling when observing the manager or owner being so negative toward his staff and customers. Ruined my meal and experience this evening ?
