If you find yourself in Brandon Vermont you should stop at Mae's Place.
I was truly impressed with the friendly hometown feeling from the staff and patrons. The decor was simple and clean. The fried pickles were awesome. I had a southwest chicken wrap that was tasty and a little bland for me. But I like spicy food. The zesty waffle fries were very good. Everything added up to a great dining experience.

Parking: We parked across the street because we were enjoying the farmers market as well.
There is 2 parking lots that are not to far away. Plenty of parking around the business and the park.

Every visit to Brandon includes a visit to Mae's. The food and service are great. The perfect place to get the day started. Everything is good, particularly the eggs Benedict with corn beef. Prices are more than reasonable. I'll be back again next time I'm in town.

Food was delicious, but it was nearly 45 minutes after ordering before we received it. Clearly an issue in the kitchen not being able to keep up on a leaf peeping Sunday, but then the staff should have told people on the way in "yes we can seat you but expect your food to take over half an hour at minimum". There was no communication from the servers even acknowledging a delay, and they seemed to periodically forget that anyone might want a coffee refill. And they kept seating people. Irresponsible - especially for a place calling itself a "diner".

Last year while driving across Vermont with my cousin to Saratoga, we were in Brandon, Vermont and hungry. It was early in the day and we walked into Mae’s and had a delicious breakfast. It’s just a nice unassuming café and a lovely little town. This year I happened to be in Vermont and I made a beeline for Mar’s to have breakfast and it did not disappoint. The portions are large and generous, and the prices are fair and the atmosphere is friendly. Plus the bathroom is super clean. Definitely worth a stop.

The food was great, the people were friendly, and I'd probably eat there again. I like simple food, Diner-style, and I seek those places out. Mae's is housed in an old historic brick building in Brandon, along with many other businesses. There is a pleasant park across the way, and some outdoor seating. <however> the only thing that left me bewildered was the plain black-and-white decor, overly modernized, which didn't fit in with the kind of food served or the old building. It felt sterile and cold. Not what I'd expect of a diner-type restaurant. I guess some people like that "style," but I'd prefer the 50's vibe most old diners have. A single unisex bathroom. There was, though, good access for my wheelchair. Again, the food was great, and good quantity, so I give Mae's five stars. The decor is a subjective thing.

Parking: Busy parking spaces because of the large number of businesses and something always going on in the park! Only two handicap spaces.

Wheelchair accessibility: Easy wheelchair entry in street-level door, smooth floors. Restroom tight, but doable.
