Our waitress for 2 nights was accurate, quick and helpful, but not oppressive. The light fare sandwiches were mixed in quality. The Pulled Pork was good, moist and plentiful. The Reuben I thought was skimpy and not very interesting -- more toast than taste. The seating area is small, but I found the back of the room to be best for conversation and privacy (but not much of that). A small alcove holds 2 separate high tables that are out of the way -- nice for more a quiet time. There is also a 4-seater in the corner between the alcove and the back wall that also is quieter. The rest of the seats are along the side wall or in the middle of the room. The high point of the light menu is the sweet potato hash that is one of the sandwich sides -- very delicious. All in all, I found this to be a pleasant place for a meal in the center of town.
The River Pub & Grill has a terrific, welcoming atmosphere and a varied and delicious menu. We loved our dinner, and the stroll around Brandon afterwards. Super charming town and great restaurant.
The food was so so my husband got the buffalo wings they had a spice on them and my husband couldn't eat them. My burger was good but couldn't eat the whole burger . The only thing was the dessert was really good! The place was to far an hour and 15 mins. Wouldn't go there again. The service was excellent.
Food is consistent and comes out fast. Usually only one special, but it's often really good. The service staff is always, always terrific. Never had a bad experience at the River Grill.
Our experience was great. We loved the food, especially the buffalo shrimp appetizer, and were able to be seated outside on a very nice evening. Our servers were all pleasant and helpful.
We went there many times over the past three years. We recently went and the staffing has changed. Also, the prices have gone up substantially. I usually get the Pastrami on rye. The bread was burnt and very little amount of Pastrami. Small portion of fries. We regret that we are not going back!
Delicious food, awesome service, amazing people. I will absolutely be back!! Best burger I've ever had.
Great pub and grill in Brandon Vermont. The buffalo chicken wings were fantastic. Well sauced and believe double fried based on the texture. The beer cheese soup was delicious as well and went well with the fried chicken sandwich which was perfectly crispy but still super tender.
Great food highly recommended
The food was great, our server was attentive and never wrote a thing down... she remembered our entire order. The ambiance was good... it was a very nice night.

We've enjoyed previous meals and service with The River Pub, not this time. Only 2 servers working and no one helping to bus tables (which hasn't been an issue in the past). Not overly busy for NYE, there were several open sears at the bar and open tables in the restaurant. When we arrived, our table was not ready but was cleared shortly after we arrived. The person who seated us asked if we wanted water and we said yes. That was the last we saw of our server for 15 minutes (not an exaggeration!). When they returned, we asked for the waters that were offered when we were seated. We had to ask if there were any specials as that information was not offered. Based on the time lag in service, we opted not to order appetizers or salad and just have a meal. We both ordered from the specials that had been mentioned - duck and filet mignon. The filet was very good - tender and cooked as requested. The duck was a disappointment - overcooked and overwhelmed by items served with it. It was disappointing to spend $125.00 for 2 drinks, two entrees and 1 shared dessert and poor service. Not sure that we'll be rushing back to Brandon to eat here.
