We've enjoyed previous meals and service with The River Pub, not this time. Only 2 servers working and no one helping to bus tables (which hasn't been an issue in the past). Not overly busy for NYE, there were several open sears at the bar and open tables in the restaurant. When we arrived, our table was not ready but was cleared shortly after we arrived. The person who seated us asked if we wanted water and we said yes. That was the last we saw of our server for 15 minutes (not an exaggeration!). When they returned, we asked for the waters that were offered when we were seated. We had to ask if there were any specials as that information was not offered. Based on the time lag in service, we opted not to order appetizers or salad and just have a meal. We both ordered from the specials that had been mentioned - duck and filet mignon. The filet was very good - tender and cooked as requested. The duck was a disappointment - overcooked and overwhelmed by items served with it. It was disappointing to spend $125.00 for 2 drinks, two entrees and 1 shared dessert and poor service. Not sure that we'll be rushing back to Brandon to eat here.

Someone gave us a gift card, we've been a few times but was waiting for the seasonal menu change. It finally happened and it was delicious. Definitely prefer the winter menu. Food, service and ambiance were great. They make the best blue cheese dressing. And the margarita was pretty darn good too!

Right size restaurant/bar for Brandon with good quality food and drinks with friendly service. Unfortunately it was quite chilly temperature the whole time we were there. Would also appreciate better lighting. Our table was in somewhat of a dark hole feeling. I expect the warm weather months would find it more enjoyable.

We've had some inconsistent experiences at the River. Really enjoyed it when they first opened, awesome chicken wings app (large sized pieces), good clean food. Seemed like it went downhill after Covid, trouble finding good/experienced staff, food was disappointing. Our food was much better this time, burgers cooked as ordered, fries weren't greasy/soggy, and our server seemed knowledgeable. Gripes: the salmon dish is underwhelming for the price, the rice that came with it was bland. Also the desserts were mediocre, cheesecake and mousse layer cake were cold and the cheesecake didn't seem homemade. Overall, though, better than previous recent visits, and hopefully things are on the upswing!
Over priced food. Nothing worth going back for. Got served the wrong side, after finally getting the correct side, we got charged for both. Geez.

Absolutely one of the best dinners I've had in awhile steak was cooked perfectly maple carrots were seasoned to perfection and the flavor of the roasted red potatoes was on point. Paired my meal with a fiddle head and glass of basil Hayden whiskey. My bartender/waiter was super attentive and professional. Very knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

Visited today, which was in before less then a year ago and got a Rueben.First visit the Rueben was top notch one of the best I’ve ever had! Today though got a Rueben with less meat then a pre-made gas station sandwich(sub way) even puts more on a 6inch…brought it to the waiters attention,zero explanation.He did mention they had a new cook from some place.No nothing in regards to my dissatisfaction.Not looking for a hand out…but I will not be handling out my hard earned dollar to a establishment with top dollar prices for what you can get elsewhere and actually have it made right.
