Music in the cafes at night and revolution in the air! Berets! Mocha Joe's feels and smells like the real coffee shop deal, without the cigarette smoke! What brews! What a brew crew! Pyre and Emma are usually the two when I pop in. Good times! Cool cats!

Cute little coffee shop in downtown Brattleboro. Very friendly staff. We tried a double mocha and double maple latte. Both were very good, though the mocha was a little bitter. Bummed the grinder was down so I couldn't get some coffee for Christmas gifts.

I characterize myself as The World's Fussiest Espresso Drinker. I went into Mocha Joe's yesterday, on my way from my best friend's near Albany NY to my home outside Boston. I've had a lot of trouble recently finding decent espresso other than from my home machine. As I entered Mocha Joe's, I didn't realize I was about to hit the jackpot! When I took my first sip of the half espresso, half hot milk (I forget what they called it, but that's how I asked for it), it was like a symphony going off in my mouth. And the symphony played grandly for the whole half hour or so that I took to drink it. The patrons were very nice to my little border collie, and the staff were fine with her being in their coffee house as long as she didn't go behind the bar, which she did once, early on. In fact, the staff all seemed like very nice people, as did the patrons. The coffee house itself looked like the nicest place to sit for an extended period of any of the coffee houses I've been inside in the last few years--about 5-6 of them, mostly in Cambridge. I vouch for everything Thomas L. says in his review. If I lived in Brattleboro, I'd be in here every day.

Coffee shop as a coffee shop should be: unpretentious, genial staff, well managed, robust coffees. The place was packed, which is a good sign.

Service was amazing, recommendation was on point and coffee was delicious! I’m from NM and I’ll make sure I add this coffee shop to our list when we go back to Vermont!

I make sure to stop here at least once every time we are in Brattleboro. This year, the owner of the Inn we stayed at told us that his (excellent) coffee is made with beans from Mocha Joe's that he grinds fresh every morning.I go for an iced drink when it's hot, a hot cappuccino when it's cooler out. This year's choice was an iced mocha latte with oat milk and it was superb. They also have pastries; we shared the raspberry almond bar, very good.

Coffee seemed bitter and burnt, the scones and pastries were dry as well. Dunkins does it better.

Simply the most pleasant barista ever and a darn good house roast.

Highly recommend. Local spot. Kind of a throwback to the coffee houses of the 60s and 70s - a little dark and dingy. But you can't beat their coffee!

Yum yum yum. Great service, attentive and kind baristas. Good coffee! MUST get anything maple when in Vermont!

On my way up to Maine - I had breakfast in Greenfield, MA - but thought I would stop off in I-91/Brattleboro for some caffeine. It was a cold, rainy October day - and I found Mocha Joe's Cafe using the Yelp app on my iPhone.I finally managed to find a parking spot - Mocha Joe's is in the midst of downtown Brattleboro - so no parking lot.As you enter Mocha Joe's - it's located in the lower level - almost like a basement - so you descend a few steps and enter.I ordered a triple shot latte - and was planning on sitting down and spending some time enjoying my latte - and break out my MacBook Pro to peruse my route from Brattleboro to Portland, ME.BUT - and this has nothing to do with Mocha Joe's - there is a customer sitting at the next table - on his PC - attempting to have a very loud job interview over Zoom - in the middle of the coffee shop. He was so loud he was close to shouting. And I must say, what I had to listen to was rather embarrassing for a job interview. I would not have hired him!So, I packed up and took my latte on the road.Delicious espresso!#MochaJoesCafe

Great local spot on Brattleboro's Fantastic coffee and stellar pastries. They have a lot of different coffee options, so you're bound to find something you enjoy. And the raspberry scones? Holy crap. I live on the other sound of the country and I dream of coming back just so I can scarf down more of those obscenely righteous scones. And it's named after one of Larry David's arch enemies. How can you go wrong?

We found Mocha Joe's while we were traveling and then just kept going back to sip on chai and talk to the people and greet all the sweet puppies who popped in with their people.
