Well we had come expecting top of the hill grill with so many positive reviews instead we showed up with a food cart serving "smoked bbq".... which unfortunately wasn't smokey and not the greatest quality and they served legit b&m beans like they could have at least doctored them up with spices onions and even bacon lolRibs were pretty fatty and burnt ends were not that tastyUnfortunately it was a bust for usJust outside seating with dirty old vinyl table clothes( I can say the view was good) and no access to bathroomsHopefully they update their information soon.
Loved the food! Burnt ends are delicious, the corn bread is great. The food is all really amazing and the view from the patio is stellar. I love coming up here on a warm day and enjoying myself for an hour or two. My only hesitation is the lady who manages the register. She is older and seems to have very little idea on how to operate a register. This past summer, I went there a half dozen times and each time she was there, my order was messed up and missing parts. So now I won't go there if I see her managing the register.
Absolutely delicious, super friendly, and accommodating! I can’t eat bread, so I asked the extremely nice person at the counter if they could put my sandwich on top of fries like a poutine, and to my surprise, they did it!! It was SO good! I will definitely be back!Decent prices, especially given the massive portions and fantastic flavor. Their BBQ sauce is INSANE.I didn’t even realize they had tables, but when I was waiting for my order, I noticed their lovely benches that overlook the lake below, and they had cute semi-indoor areas too!
Very cool spot to grab a bite! Beautiful views and such a neat set up in terms of atmosphere and seating options. There's uncovered, covered, and then indoors. It's kind of like a tree house, you feel like you're eating high up among nature. You woukdmt be able to tell this place is so unique from the road. Now the food - we got the brisket mac and cheese. I would highly recommend it. The brisket was cooked just right and didn't have much fat on it. The mac was creamy and delicious. Go, go, go!
Loved this outdoor gem! Peaceful oasis with tasty BBQ food ?
Had lunch here on a pleasant weather day. We both had bbq - I had pork, Hubby had burnt ends. I found the pork a little dry, but the burnt ends were very tender. Drinks are served in cans/bottles. All seating is outdoors (at least as far as I could tell). We would chose a different place another time.
Been meaning to come here for bbq for almost 10 years but never had the momentum and opportunity until this afternoon. Grabbed a pound of burnt ends for $22. Quality was just average. Cole slaw for $2.00 was solid and collared greens with tomato and bacon for $4.00 was actually excellent. Brisket, ribs and/or a Reuben next time if I ever make it back in another 10 years. Scenic views with plenty of seating. Downtown Brattleboro is right near. Lots of shops and the old movie theatre from 1938.
The view is beautiful. The outdoor covered and uncovered tables are well appointed. The food is yummy. Not a fan of the stale cornbread. Nice eclectic crowd. ?? Friendly.
Food was good, location is amazing.Also…..-1 star for speed of service. BBQ isn’t made right before you serve it.-1 star for cost vs value. I thought my portion of Burt ends was skimpy (but delicious). I get it cost of goods has risen, but I shouldn’t leave hungry. Offer beans and slaw and pickles or something.-1 star for a change of ownership. This place used to be a hub the community with tons of unique Vermont experience. Lots of funky options. Now… very standard bbq.
I'm picky with my BBQ sauce! This place didn't disappoint! Had driven past a few times and the parking lot was always full. Super friendly college students serving one of the best BBQ I have ever had. The atmosphere is quaint if you opt to dine outside as well. The platter was super tasty. The cornbread, beans and coleslaw were equally delicious to the meat. Don't miss this place!! Lisa

The view is incredible. You order your food from a stand and then they call you when it’s ready. I was not that hungry so I just ordered the rice and beans. It was like a Spanish rice and beans. It was cold so it must be premade and I guess they didn’t heat it. I couldn’t eat it. I gave three stars though because the other people in my party liked their food - the chicken. One person got the brisket and thought it was good but too spicy.
Nice little BBQ spot in Brattleboro VT. Really enjoyable outdoor seating area. Had a few sandwiches and some chicken. Brisket Rueben was great. Bbq chicken was a bit underwhelming. Overall great stop while passing through:)
A little slow on pick up/to go orders but the food was pretty good! Really enjoyed the ribs. The collard greens were in a takeout box instead of a soup cup and ended up spilling all over unfortunately. But they were still good!
Food was pretty good. Customer service was not. One employee actually had an attitude and got aggravated that we asked for silverware. He stated that they were out of silverware. We had to actually ask him how we were supposed to eat baked beans without silverware.
We eat here 1-2 times a week in the summer. Lately it’s been slow and food is cold. We were the first customers in line today and our food still took over 30 minutes to get to us while staff was cooking and eating their lunch first. Food consistency also changes from week to week. Completely different flavors, way the meat is cooked, and portion sizes the last 4 times we went. We love the view and on the days the food is cooked well it’s worth a long wait and the high price- unfortunately the last few times that hasn’t been the case and we are debating not going back. Huge bummer.
