What an amazing place. I come here every time I’m in town, usually multiple times. The Buddha Beef and Dry-Fried Green Beans are must haves, but there are so many good options. The owner is a wonderful woman and an amazing cook. Highly recommend

They don't list the price for the group tasting menu. For a group of 9 it's 120 dollars each, without drinks or sides. The food is absurdly overly salty. The server doesn't inform you about the price. Not only they recommend it for groups, they recommend you get your own dishes along with it, which would bring the total cost per person over 150 dollars. The tasting menu items themself aren't anywhere near worth that price. It mostly comes with cheap greens. First bad review I felt obliged to leave. Don't go.

You won’t find another place like this. All the food is incredibly unique, amazing and memorable. Every time we come back there are certain dishes we just HAVE to get. Service is top-notch as is the distinct atmosphere, with the round tables with lazy Susan’s for family-style sharing of dishes. It’s definitely expensive but it’s so worth it, always such a treat to go eat here.

Excellent food, great ambience. I recently stayed at the brand new AC hotel across the street and dined there. Highly recommend both. Keep up the great work guys!

The food is always phenomenal BUT just so parents are aware- there are no diaper changing stations in either bathroom. I would understand it if they discouraged bringing kids, but if you offer high chairs you should also offer a safe place to change a diaper.
Recommended dishes: Mock Eel, Scallion Pancake
Friendly staff, lots of options. However, all the dishes are ridiculously expensive ($25-$45) and the tofu/seitan dishes are served with no veggies. Updated from previous review on 2025-12-24
Returned after several years. Dined early so place not busy. The food is brought out when prepared. The lo mein came before the dumplings. Ordered Tangerine Peel Chicken. The outer coating was crisp and chicken tender but the expectations of a hint of citrus was dashed in first bite. Broccoli was tender but cooled quickly. Portion size okay but pricey at $40. Steamed pork dumplings had generous portion of meat inside, dumpling was thick and chewy. Dipping sauce had an interesting vinegar mix with soy sauce. Tart and salty. Asked for a side of chili sauce. It had spicey heat making the dumplings taste a bit better. The lo mein was way too salty for both of us. The vegetables were not as plentiful as we remembered having on our first visit. Thin slices of some peppers, some mushrooms and a ton of green onions were placed around the edge of plate. Sauce pooled under the noodles making the need to stir it frequently to keep the noodles coated. Dessert was very disappointing. Crème brûlée had the caramelized sugar on top but the custard base was watery and bland. The tapioca pudding was so watery you could drink it, only saving grace was the flavor was palatable enough to consume it. Waitress was a bit over attentive but would rather have that than missing when needed. Could be because it was still quiet in restaurant. Staff had to walk down stairs through our dining area then up stairs to retrieve food from kitchen area then repeat to get back to tables on other side. You receive a pebble with your bill at the end of the meal.

I’m not generally inclined to write Google reviews - but didn’t have a great experience, at this (expensive) Burlington institution.
Went in for a date night. We had never been and wanted to try the chef’s menu. Staff was fine mostly, but it was the timing of the meal that was very disappointing.
The food was generally good, but all dishes (9 courses) came out within 30 minutes. We couldn’t keep up and were out of there in an hour. They do say that dishes are served as they are ready, but for the chef’s menu they could stagger the dishes a bit. It’s not cheap and has a bit of a “special occasion” reputation in town. It seemed like they wanted us out ASAP.
For a $250 meal (chef’s menu for 2 and two drinks), I would have expected more. There are much better restaurants in Burlington at this price point. This place seems tired.

A Single Pebble has been my favorite for over 5 years. We take family and guests from out of town for elevated Szechuan cuisine and an overall special experience.
After a lackluster and nearly inedible meal tonight, I'm so disappointed. Our usual favorite tasted nothing like the dish I've ordered for 5 years. We asked for medium spice - this usually has lip-numbing spice - and got a lukewarm dish that was neither spicy, nor true to the dish we've always gotten. It's like the kitchen forgot to add the key ingredients that impart flavor. I know because I make this dish at home frequently, and I'm always trying to emulate their version.
A different vegetable side dish was $25....and was inedible. I actually spat it out.
I believe there are new owners here. If so, I hope they can turn things around.
We have decided to wait a few months before going back in the hopes that the kitchen was just having an off night. We drive 45 minutes both ways for this special place, but won't take this chance again soon.
One entree, two veg sides. One cocktail. $120. Ouch.

Menu seems to be be getting smaller over time. But still one of the best places around.

Booked a reservation for 3. Hostess was great, waitress was on time. We ordered family style as suggested. Portions were fine but our food didn’t smash it out of the park like I remember this place doing. Our fried rice was over cooked and didn’t have much of a fry to it. One set of meat dumplings came out cool on one side. Then our fried tangerine chicken didn’t have much crisp. Waitress was a sweetheart and knew everything about the food. This place was a world class restaurant when I went to school here something different happened Thursday night.

I recently stayed at a nearby hotel and walked over to check out this restaurant’s menu. Prices were not listed on the menu outside, but I called in an order for pickup. The staff on the phone and at the counter were friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated.
However, the meal itself did not seem to match the price. The pictured to-go order—green beans, white rice, and shrimp—was over $80. I wasn’t informed of the cost beforehand, and since I had just arrived in town, I didn’t think to ask. I assumed prices would be slightly above average given the college-town location, but the total was a surprise when I arrived to pick up my food.
The shrimp unfortunately were overcooked and chewy. On the positive side, the green beans were very flavorful. While I appreciate the great service, the food quality and pricing together left me disappointed. Be sure to ask the prices here. I didn’t believe the cost and had to double check on their menu.
The shrimp dish was almost $50 and the green beans were $19.

Another example of unbalanced supply and demand in Burlington. This place would not last where there was competition. We showed 11 minutes early for a 5:30 reservation but were told we needed to wait so we don’t over burden the kitchen. Note, the restaurant was 2/3 empty. Then the prices? $40+ for a single plate of basic Chinese food. Look elsewhere.
