Great meal, service and love being back in that building. Ryan was a great server! We started with NA drinks of Not a Negroni and Damsel in distress, added sourdough bread and a chicory salad to lead us into the chicken and green beans and a plate of homemade squash raviolis. Everything finished off with the olive cake with strawberries. This place was as advertised!

We recently made reservations to take one of our out-of-town guests here for dinner, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. Our reservation was for 7:30 p.m., and by the time we arrived, the restaurant was already in full swing. The atmosphere was lively and energetic, yet still comfortable enough for great conversation. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated — a smooth start that set the tone for a wonderful evening.

As new residents in Vermont — having recently made the big move from Portland, Oregon, where the food scene is vibrant and full of devoted foodies — we’ve been eager to explore what our new home state has to offer. This restaurant did not disappoint! It’s clear that Vermont has its own unique charm when it comes to dining, and this place is a perfect example of that.

Our server came by shortly after we were seated to welcome us and hand us the menus. While the menu isn’t extensive, it’s well-curated with enough variety for everyone to find something they love. Each dish felt thoughtfully composed, highlighting fresh ingredients and classic flavors with a local touch. We decided to start with a few appetizers, followed by our entrées, and of course, dessert to round out the evening.

The drinks were another highlight. The bar program here is impressive — our cocktails were balanced, creative, and beautifully presented. They also have an extensive list of spirits and liquors, making it a great spot for anyone who appreciates a well-crafted drink.

Everything we ordered was delicious and perfectly timed. The service was attentive and efficient without ever feeling rushed. We especially loved the steak and the swordfish — both were outstanding. The steak was tender, juicy, and cooked exactly to order, while the swordfish was flavorful and perfectly seared. I truly hope they keep that steak on the menu; it was a definite favorite.

Though we were absolutely full by the end of our entrées, we couldn’t resist ordering dessert — one of everything to share at the table. Each dessert was rich, satisfying, and the ideal sweet finish to an already wonderful meal.

What truly elevated the experience, though, was the warmth and hospitality of the entire team, and they also took the time to recognize the double birthday celebration at our table. From the hostess to the servers and bartender, everyone made us feel genuinely welcome. A special shoutout to Evelyn and Will, who were both personable, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable evening.

All in all, it was an exceptional dining experience that exceeded our expectations — especially as newcomers to Vermont looking for a place that embodies the spirit of local cuisine. The combination of excellent food, top-notch service, and a cozy, inviting atmosphere has made this our new go-to spot for showcasing Vermont dining to our guests. We’re already looking forward to returning soon!

While I rarely wrote reviews, I felt compelled to after what I believe was one of the best meals I have ever enjoyed. Frankie’s was recommended by Anna from Hotel Vermont and we were more than delighted. The pumpkin ravioli and the swordfish dish were both so so delicious. We were able to sneak in early and nab a bar seat. I will be recommending Frankie’s to everyone we know heading to Burlington…and can’t wait to return! Cheers from Oklahoma! 😊

I just had the most incredible meal at Frankie’s!!! Their menu is definitely always rotating, but I got the clams (a must if available), the pumpkin ravioli, the shishito peppers, and the cinnamon creamy affogato & oh my…. I eat in a lot of nice restaurants and this one is now towards the top of my list of favorites!!! I drank their Frankie’s Negroni & the most delicious Beaujolais to accompany! The staff were so kind, friendly and beautiful! Huge s/o to Max, the bar manger & Jeff!! Very cool guys behind the bar, that truly made my experience!! Especially as someone dining solo! Keep it up! Can’t wait to come back :) cheers!

I had high expectations after reading so many great reviews. Even though I wasn’t very hungry, I decided to give the place a try as a tourist new to town and ordered the swordfish, which was highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the dish didn’t quite meet expectations — the fish came in a slightly watery, sour gravy and lacked the flavor I was hoping for. The service was also quite slow; it took almost 40 minutes for the food to arrive. If the food had been exceptional, I wouldn’t have minded the wait, but it just wasn’t worth it. Also portion size was quite small it being an entrée.

I also tried the crispy fried prawns, which honestly tasted like something out of a frozen bag — nothing special.

Overall, I was disappointed considering the strong reviews. Perhaps it was just an off day, but the experience didn’t match what I expected.

Wow this was so good. The calamari, roasted cauliflower with pistachio gremolada, pumpkin ravioli, fired shrimp, and swordfish. All delicious. The service was impeccable. I am dairy free and they were great about it. Highly recommend.

Unbelievably good. Everything we had was a 15/10. Radicchio with creamy bleu cheese, pears, and candied walnuts, clams with the best sauce, chicken with also the best sauce, and a martini that impressed even my picky dad. Outstanding service, warm and lively atmosphere, I think this is probably the best restaurant in Burlington. Go!

In short: Frankie’s is exceptional. A restaurant where culinary craft and warm professionalism meet—and stay consistent throughout the meal. Once again we were impressed with the balance of taking hospitality and cuisine seriously. The thoughtfulness of the choices on their hand picked menu, the nuance of seasonings along with watching the servers bring out all of five of our entrees in unison, with confident grace, which elevated the whole experience. Bravo Frankie’s. You’re the bomb.
