Was there with a group of 6. 3 ordered salmon, 3 ordered steak. While the salmon was good, ALL 3 steaks were cold and had to be sent back. While the poor waitress was apologetic (she was wonderful by the way, was just out of her control), would have expected a visit from the manager to try to rectify the situation. They simply threw it back on the grill, so it ended up being overcooked and clearly fries were simply pure back in the fryer causing them to be completely overdine. With so many other restaurants to choose from, I would not recommend this one.

kind and accommodating staff willing to give food suggestions to an out of town visitor looking for a tasty but affordable meal after shopping!
Had the best BLT ever! Yummy, crispy bacon on homemade sourdough. So good!

Went in mid day for a burger and side salad. Burger was just ok but raw corn in a salad isn’t a good idea. Especially if there’s still silk on it. Staff was nice and the aesthetic was not campy or over the top. I can see this being an understated date vibe. Don’t have any expectations in the food. Its really unremarkable

A great, relaxed dinner at the bar with a friend. The bartender is the grandson/owner of the Halverson/original owner. Super-friendly and informative. A great meal and beer at this iconic Burlington establishment.

1st time there! Enjoyed a nice meal inside. There was music playing outside in the back so we went out back for dessert.
The food was excellent!! Service was spot on!

It's a lot larger than what its looks like from the outside. The service is good, they are quite busy during lunch and servers and staff are literally running around quite a bit, our table seemed to feel very close to all the action, it was amusing :). Food was good, nothing that wows you, average Vermont lunch food, if you are out and about in Church Street, its a possible stop on the way. Plenty of parking around within a few minutes walk. Laid back atmosphere, few brunch specials, fresh ingredients, overall its an okay place.

This is the cutest spot on church street for sure. Drinks were great, food was excellent, and our server, Lucy, was sweetest, most charming, and attentive waitress we’ve had in awhile.

Went out to dinner here on Friday night with some friends. The food was great, service was solid and the bill was affordable. This is one of the best bang for your Buck on Church Street!
Still family owned I’m pretty sure as well. Been here many times, but it’s been years. Still holds up well! Great burger, fried chicken salad, and tacos.
Reservations were needed so we sat at the bar.
Service was attentive and efficient, aperol spritz was on point and tapped beer tasted good. Got a burger melt and it was good, we sat outside just a beautiful day in Burlington.
Food was DELICIOUS, prices were pretty standard for VT pub food in 2025. Service was GREAT even though our server (I think his name was Joe ... he should probably get a raise) was running the entire dining room by himself (hosting, serving, bussing). Thanks for a great night out, Joe (and company)!
Halversons is a great lunch spot, but never been there for dinner. I always get the New England Clam Chowder, it’s thick and creamy and has lot of clams and isn’t just loaded with potatoes like most places. The Old Style Smoked Turkey sandwich is grilled to perfection with melty cheese and a tasty garlic aioli. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Worth the walk to the top of the block of Church Street.
