It took over 25 minutes before someone came to take a drink order. The order of our appetizers, salads, entrees were all messed up from what was requested. One question was left waiting for his food for more than 10 minutes while the others had their entrees. There was no acknowledgment or accommodation for this inconvenience. Bare bones service. Not what I have come to expect from Leunig's. Disappointed.

Excellent service, the steak au poivre was perfectly cooked and succulent and the coq au vin came with sides that totally complimented the chicken. The plates were thoughtful in that everything on them worked in harmony.

Great experience! Market Salad was hearty and healthy! The shrimp and beef skewers for an appetizer was delicious as well as the crab cakes! Our server was very attentive.

There aren't many Burlington restaurants open at 4 p.m. on a Monday; we chose Leunig's because we had a flight to catch at 7. Walking in on a chilly, dark and snowy January afternoon was almost like time travel: think Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris, but in the 1950s instead of the 1920s. The "Bistro Dinner." (a/k/a Early Bird) offers a small bowl of very decent pistou (or a salad) and a main for $28 from 3 to 5. Beef Bourguinon was impressive in both quality and quantity; the perfectly tender-crisp green beans resting on the summit of small mountains of beef, crisp bacon and mashed potatoes were a reminder that we have learned how to treat vegetables better. I'll happily return.

I had a smuggs vodka tonic and it tasted terrible. Im assuming it was the tonic or an old line that needed to be cleaned. Ive had lots of smuggs vodka in the past and have never had it taste bad. Our server didnt seem to want to bother with us, felt like we were wasting her time the whole dinner.

Today was our second time at this place the first one was on the 28th, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing again.
I went with my husband and another couple of friends. We actually chose this restaurant because we searched on Google and it was the only place open at that time with available seating. Even though our first experience wasn’t good, we thought, “Well, we don’t have many options, let’s give it a second chance.” Big mistake.
The service was terrible: slow, unmotivated, and careless. There was a clear lack of interest from the staff. My husband ordered a second glass of wine, and it took an absurd amount of time to arrive. No one came to our table to ask how the food was or if we needed anything.
When the food finally arrived, our dishes were cold, the meat portion was very small, and the prices are quite high for what they deliver. The overall experience simply does not justify the cost.
Maybe we are used to better service in Boston (not everywhere, of course, but in most places), and our friends from Miami feel the same way, but this was far below acceptable standards.
We truly tried to give this place another chance, but the disappointment was repeated. Sadly, we will not be coming back again.
If you’re considering this place just because it’s open or has availability seriously, don’t. We gave it two chances, and both times were a letdown.

The place was had so many free tables and the hostess told me they couldnt seat a group of 5 all day while i am literally looking at a table of 7…????? So i ordered coffee to go because apparently i am not allowed to sit and they only fill it up half way…. 4 coffees $25 and theyre all half empty??? What is wrong with these people. Never coming here again. Rude as hell

The food was excellent and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by the conduct of the hostess, Tony, who was unprofessional and disrespectful. As a guest using a wheelchair, they referred to me as I was entering by saying, “the wheelchair is coming,” and then attempted to justify the comment by explaining it was related to the reservation. An apology only came after the excuse, which made the interaction feel dismissive and insensitive. This behavior was disappointing and not reflective of the level of service one would expect at Leunig’s. No one should be made to feel singled out or dehumanized because of their circumstances.

I used to not be the biggest fan of Leunig’s about 5–6 years ago because it felt overpriced for what you got. Since then, prices have gone up pretty much everywhere, and in comparison Leunig’s has become a pretty decent value—especially if you catch the bistro dinner during the 3–5 window and in the last hour of service.

My go-to order is the steak frites. The pan sauce is genuinely excellent and really makes the dish, and it’s one I keep coming back for. The escargot is another go-to for me as well—always a great way to start the meal. Service has also always been friendly and attentive in my experience.

In the summer, the outdoor seating on Church Street is a great bonus. It’s a nice place to sit, have a good meal, and do some people-watching.

The website clearly states that the Lunch menu is served on Saturdays, but when we went on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025 at 1pm (with a reservation) we were told only the brunch menu was available. Food was ok, service was good, but epic fail regarding the menu. BTW, the website continues to state that the Lunch menu is served on Saturdays, even though it is not! I wonder why…. Won’t be going back.

The food, Beef Bourguignon, was brought to our table less than 10 minutes after ordering. My friend barely had a sip of her mediocre White Russian cocktail before it arrived. The food was bland and lukewarm. No rich flavor of red wine nor garlic in the garlic mashed potatoes. We had to ask for salt and pepper to season. Disappointing. Charming ambiance and decor. Kind but not very knowledgeable server. Will not be returning.

Who the hell puts canned crushed tomatoes and frozen peas in a carbonara? What was up with that sauce? Can we talk about it? Are you mad at me?

We LOVE this place. The staff is always so friendly. They make great drinks. The menu rotates often enough to keep things fresh and excited. We have been going here for several years and have never had a bad meal.
