Excellent, flavourful, inventive food served up in a vibrant, lively place. We were visiting Burlington during a snowstorm and went there on a whim. The place was still packed and happy, and we loved our meal. Kudos to the team there.

Excellent food and service. The staff is super nice and attentive. Ordered the mushroom tartine and cauliflower steak, both of which were excellent. One of the bathrooms has a little party strobe light in it. And they have a nice bar (in the restaurant, not in the bathroom). The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the tiramisu, which was super pumpkiny. Definitely an acquired taste, but it looked great at least!

I brought my wife out for her birthday after hearing rave reviews about Mayday. Our first impression when seated was that it was incredibly dark inside the restaurant, the table was tiny and it was extremely loud inside. It kept getting louder as the night went on as well. We ordered several items as appetizers and they all came out fast and our service was great. The food was INCREDIBLY salty though. Every single thing we ordered just tasted like salt. We hoped that it was just the first plates that we got that was salty, but when we got our main dishes, they were just as salty. Our bill was over $200 for the 2 of us, which would have been okay, but I could have just bought a bag of salt at the grocery store and replicated any dish by covering it in salt.

I'm normally reluctant to go to restaurants that don't mark their vegan options on the menu, but May Day is the exception. The menu changes every few months, but I always know I'm in good hands. The staff seems excited to come up with creative and satisfying ways to modify dishes. Rather than merely removing cheese from a dish, they always come up with a different ingredient to add instead of the non vegan one. Every dish I've ever had here has been absolutely delicious.

This place made me feel things. First thing’s first - park at the lot for 294-296 N Winooski Ave, as everywhere else is closed. The vibe is relaxed but professional, the service is exemplary, and the food is spectacular. Highly recommend the buffalo chicken schnitzel, the chocolate mousse with olive oil and potato chips, and a shot of Vecchio del Capo. Can’t say enough good things about May Day, and as an out-of-state visitor I will miss it dearly. So grateful for the experience.

The food was also excellent, coming from Montreal it’s hard to impress us with good food but Mayday exceeded our expectations and I would love to come back to Burlington for another visit.
