Their pesto pizza was the best I ever had ?

I've only been here twice, but I love this place. Good prices and good food (fresh bagels and a great current cream scone), decently priced, good coffee drinks and great fresh fruit or veggie juices. The atmosphere is definitely my favorite bit. It's a great place for coffee (or in my case, usually a decaf dirty chai) and chat with a friend. I know it's a popular spot, and it can get busy, but we found it pretty quiet on a Tuesday morning around 930 (but busier by 10-1030).

Decent coffee and vibes, but a shocking lack of wifi for a coffee shop, I sat down and ordered a drink by the time I found out there was no wifi. What type of coffee shop doesn't have wifi!?

Nice and cozy. Loved it's ambiance

True coffeehouse atmosphere. Great place to chat over coffee and a snack. Try the granola--chock full of nuts and dried fruit. Appreciate that they stay open later than most coffee places in town.

Very cool vibes inside. Especially loved the woods beams throughout! The coffee was HOT and the scones were delicious! My husband got a "pot of tea" in a cast iron tea pot.... They literally have a wall of loose tea leaves to fit everyone's fancy; so many flavors to choose from. The spicy chai was delicious as well.

I’ve been to many, many coffee shops… but Muddy Waters is SO unique! This coffee feels like you walked into a cabin in the woods with some of Jim Henson‘s Muppets/creations/art chilling with you for some coffee. It was seriously SO unique - and different! It took me awhile to “see” and “take it all in” before venturing up to the barista counter to order my delicious oat milk latte. In a land of a million “cookie cutter coffee shops” - Muddy Waters stands out as a diamond in the rough for SURE! Even if you don’t care for coffee- come in to see this really unique spot. Get a cup of coffee and “chill” with these Muppets

We popped in here super early on a Wednesday morning and it was so cozy and quiet. The coffee was great as were the bagels (I had the smoked salmon with capers and dill cream cheese). We were able to sit and read comfortably for at least an hour before it started to get busier. We did find it a bit less enjoyable when the cafe started to fill up with some smaller kids who were obviously a bit more noisy. But this is more of a personal preference and didn’t ruin our experience. If you’re looking for a calm spot to enjoy your morning coffee, head there early and take advantage.

As both a local and UVM student, Muddy Waters is my go-to breakfest, coffee and study spot. Open into the evening, with beautiful sunny windows during the day, it is the perfect spot to enjoy any of their delicious drink options and delectable pastries. They also source their bagels locally, which are in my opinion the best in Burlington, and my family is from New York City. Even on busy school days, I always stop for a mocha and bagel on my way up to campus for the most reasonably priced and highest quality drinks and eats. If you are looking for a coffee shop in the Burlington area, go to Muddy Waters.

Ugh. High hopes as Muddy Water was recommended by a friend. Worst service I’ve experienced in a while. Brunette working this morning didn’t greet us at all as we stood in front of her for about 5 minutes. Totally understand that she was working on the order in front of us, but at least say “Hello, I’ll be right with you” or at the very least make eye contact and smile? It was so awkward. She was just standing in front of us on the POS system and never even looked up at us. Anyway — a girl from the back finally came out and took our order, again, not particularly friendly. They didn’t have cold brew today. My boyfriend got an undrinkable iced americano so we threw it out and went a short drive to Kru Coffee where we were greeted instantly by a bubbly barista and had delicious coffees in a brighter more cheerful setting.

Not only are there fun coffee and food options, but the ambiance is such a treat for the senses! Large wooden beams and paneling, make for such a cool vibe along with the painted tin ceiling. Oh, and the plants growing in the front room are absolutely lovely. All of those natural elements clash in the most stunningly wonderful way with the art piece monsters! My daughter loved the white hot chocolate and made us go back during the second day of our trip so she could get another, and the spicy hot chocolate was just the right heat level to be exciting!
