Been to Ida a few times. All I can say is WOW! I’ve had the regular pie and the square pie a few times now. The food is unbelievably delicious and some of the best pizza I’ve ever had! I also don’t understand the negative reviews because my dine in and take out experiences have both been amazing. The pizza is 100% worth the price.

The pies are decent but Dan is such an unpleasant person. Makes the entire place trash. He makes great sandwiches though, be sure to ask for an Italian.

Excellent pizza but it’s just pizza and exceptionally overpriced. $40 plain to go with 20% gratuity and BAM. $50 for a freaking pizza. The famous restaurants in New Haven charge 1/2 that price. Save your money and drive to New

Didn’t really know what to expect coming to Ida for the first time… my wife and I ordered the chicken parm (highly recommend), BK pie with VT garlic, bottle of wine and the olive oil cake (best I’ve ever had). All of it was fantastic! We sat at the bar and were lucky enough to see the owners in action. Everything was timed well and they didn’t miss a beat. The wine is imported from Italy, and it was amazing - went down smooth and didn’t leave us feeling crummy. My only regret is not adding pepperoni to the pizza! My only feedback is that it could be helpful to have a little background on the restaurant/ingredients/prices displayed somewhere or even on the back of the menus - that way guests can fully understand what they’re enjoying and why without getting their panties in a bunch.

The pizza might be good...I dunno. The replies from the owner are entertaining though. He definitely gives credence to what the " fake" reviewers are saying. Nothing like hearing it from the "horses" mouth though. The owner should help the people understand why his cheese pizza's price is 3 times that of every other cheese pizza out there. He definitely likes to argue. Enjoy your pizza!... you'd better for $40. Hahaha hahaha Edit. Wow! That was fast. And thanks for the "help"proving the legitimacy of "fake" reviews. You're just like Sunday morning. Thanks for being the topic of review over your delicious pizza. High road or low road, your choice.

Appalled at the management of this restaurant. My husband and I wanted a nice night out and we decided to come here. What a shame. When we heard that the pizza was $45 we had to double check with them to make sure we heard them correctly. I don’t mind paying for expensive meals as long as it’s worth it. We get our order and begin eating. We both look at each other as if we’re being pranked. This pizza was not good. Not only was it not $45 good but it was not even “we’ll order from dominos tonight” good. The sauce made all of the cheese slide everywhere and the crust was burnt and floppy as could be. My husband and I own a pizza oven and make some from time to time and this pizza came NO WHERE close to this. $45? More like $10-$20. When we brought up our issues with the the staff the owner said “you paid for it, now eat it”. Never have I been treated like that in my life, I was at a loss for word. I urge everyone to not eat here. Not only from the pizza that is 2.5x the price they should be selling it at, but also because no one deserves to be treated like that. Afterwards, my husband and I agreed that the owner probably has a personality disorder and we shouldn’t let his rude words get to us. Nonetheless I still need to rate my experience what it was.

We drove from Montreal just to eat here, and it was worth the trip.I'm not sure what these negative reviewers are so upset about! Some of the best pizza I've ever had in my life, and well worth the price. The wine selection although limited, was incredible, and you can't beat the prices the wines are being sold at.The atmosphere is really great, there's a dreamy-ness to this restaurant, it's just special. The salad and dessert we had were also SO GOOD and you can taste the quality of the ingredients.Lastly, the service was lovely, the owner was super nice and we had a great time. I can't wait to come back again. Hoping to try the whole menu!!

Finally visited a few Thursdays ago for the first time. The pizza was solid (pricy), decent playlist (really loud), cool layout. I was looking to go back this weekend and went on IG to check the menu and apparently I've been blocked lol. I liked one comment with some constructive criticism and apparently that's all it took. Seriously, get some thicker skin, stop gatekeeping, or just go back to Philly. Oh and wear a hairnet around whatever that thing is on your face. It's a gross look for the restaurant industry, and that's saying something for a college town.

I was going to eat here, but didn't. Here's why.ALL restaurants get some bad reviews, and a quirky restaurant does not bother me. BUT...Please read the childish, egotistical, insulting responses from the owner to the legitimate complaints of the customers and decide for yourself if you want to support this place.

I guess my original review got taken down because I was too mean (womp womp). Long story short, pizza is overpriced. Owner is incredibly rude. When we were a bit taken aback by the pricing (reasonable reaction, given that he’s charging $40 for a cheese pizza) he rudely told us to get outside and gave us the finger on the way out. Clearly has a huge ego and thinks he’s the center of the universe, but also has a very thin skin.UPDATE here's the original review that I wrote, which I actually had a great time writing:I almost never write reviews, but our experience here was so bad that I feel like I should. This past Saturday night we checked out Ida. I've never been to a restaurant where the owner is so full of themselves and rude. You're not the main character bro. First of all, $40 for a normal sized pizza is absurd. We weren't aware of how expensive the pizzas were until we got there, and we were all a bit shocked. While we were debating if we should eat there, I said out loud what we were all thinking: "I don't want to pay $40 for a pizza." The owner's response was to incredibly rudely tell us to get out of there, along with a dirty look, and flipping us off. I've never had the owner/manager of a restaurant be so blatantly rude, and it comes off to me as incredibly tone deaf to be offended by the fact that people are taken aback by the idea of paying that much money for a normal sized pizza. I've been to some incredible pizzerias around the country and around Europe, and I don't think I've ever paid more than $25 or so for a full pie. It's also pretty weird to be charging that much money when your pizzeria is literally located in a back alley next to a bunch of dumpsters, but this is appropriate given how bad of an experience we had. It's worth noting that the pizzas didn't even look very good. The aesthetic of the place is also weird. It looks like you just walked into a combination of a little kid's play room and a hippie prayer center or something. It didn't help that the owner smelled like weed.We were all pretty pissed off by how poorly we were treated, but were very entertained to find afterwards that there is an instagram account (with over 500 followers) dedicated to hating on this arrogant pizza owner, due to similar experiences. I feel very validated in all of these opinions and criticisms, given that the vast majority of reviews we saw after the fact shared similar sentiments. It's worth noting that this place was the only place we found that was pretty much completely empty on a Saturday around 8pm. At first we thought this was a plus, as we wanted to eat relatively quickly. However, within about 20 seconds it became glaringly apparent why the place was empty. It's pretty amazing to me that this guy's business survives, as I'm sure most if not all of the local college students hate him and can't go there because, similar to us, they are on college student budgets. Then again, when you charge ridiculous prices for pizza you probably only need to scam three to four people a day into buying one of your pizzas in order to get by. Pricing out college students in a college town. That's a bold strategy cotton, let's see if it pays off for them!Long story short, we have no idea how good or bad their pizza is, but avoid Ida because the prices are absurd, and the owner is arrogant, rude, and thinks he's the center of the universe. If I could give a review with zero stars, or negative stars, I would.
