So highly recommended! Everything is baked to perfection, is DELICIOUS, and beautiful. We have out-of-state relatives that beg us to bring them almond buttercrunch cakes every visit. Love the meat pies and all the other sweet treats too. Incredible customer service as well, Emily is lovely.

Thank you so much for working with me from afar! Such great service. I just wish I could be there to try all of these things! Brown butter lavender bouchons?!

I have been buying these amazing little almond butter crunch cakes for years at the saturday Burlington farmer's market. They are like no other cake (and I know my way around butter, sugar and four!). The original is my "go to" flavor, but the sour cherry and the apricot are also amazing! I was nervous to try the lavender infused cake, but it did not disappoint! The cakes are rich but not dense. They are so well balanced I enjoy them with tea or with a scoop of ice cream. A perfect dessert for a mature palette- not too sweet and quality ingredients. I always have one in the freezer in case of emergency!;) I'm glad to hear they are available at the Co-op and Healthy Living too.

I've been frequenting the Bakery At the Farmhouse Kitchen's stall at the farmers market since about 2010. They make at least 20 different varieties of their absolutely delicious Almond Buttercrunch cake, offering different flavors depending on the holiday and the season. My favorite is probably the original, with its buttery cake and toasted almonds, and the chocolate chip, which essentially adds bittersweet chocolate to the top of the original recipe. So delicious! BATFK cakes are baked in small batches using seasonal Vermont ingredients. They use Vermont producers of butter, milk, eggs, seasonal fruits, locally produced chocolate, flour, honey and maple syrup. The owner, I've forgotten her name, is usually at the Farmers Market and I often chat her up about how awesome her cakes are. This season she is selling some new offerings, including Beef Hand Pies. I tried one today. At $7 they are pricy, I think I'd be more comfortable paying $5 or $6 so per pie, but they are very tasty with beef, potatoes and spices and a flaky, buttery crust. Today I also tried some of their super delicious tart lemon creme sandwich cookies. They are a sweet, flaky and crumbly biscuit on the outside with tart, creamy lemon on the inside. I really loved these. The Bakery just relocated to 377 Pine Street in Burlington and it's products are also available locally at City Market, Healthy Living, Hunger Mountain Coop, Lebanon Coop, Myer's Bagels, and Sweet Clover in Essex (Seasonally). The BATFK also caters events and ships their product. They take orders via their website at The Almond Crunch Cake has been and continues to be one of my favorite offerings at the Burlington Farmers Market. If you're in town you should definitely check it out. They are usually positioned at the top of the market on College Street. Or visit their storefront on Pine Street.
