Wonderful service. We got invited in by the owner and hostess. They treated us well and the food was really good. I got the gumbo and it was pretty for Vermont and I love going to New Orleans. Im glad we stopped by.
This is an unassuming absolute gem of a restaurant located downton Burlington, VT. It has just the right amount of choices to keep the quality and the food is top notch. My complimemts to the chef! I have never left less than impressed. One of the best chowders I have had and that is just an appetizer!
The Gryphon is a GEM. Earlier in the day it is quiet, reliably open (this is special in VT), and attentively and knowledgeably staffed (you will adore Alex; his incredible experience is evident in how he tends to each guest).
The food is comforting and so impressively well executed, you'd think the chef should be on the Food Network. Who doesn't love an approachable and concise menu of items they know how to do well every time?!?!
The environment is a perfect balance of old world class meets comfortable open lounge with creatively delicious cocktails and staff committed to finding the perfect meal or drink even if an adjustment is going to help you enjoy the experience better based on your personal flavor/food/ingredient preferences.
My partner and I cannot eat gluten (not celiac) and are infinitely appreciative of a well done menu with GF options readily available.
I wish I had known about The Gryphon before living in downtown BTV because it would have been a worthy destination for a friend gathering, however, better late than never, and I am very thankful and fulfilled every time I visit!
Had a tasty burger here and some superb service from bartender Liam
👍👍
Food was good service was good
I am happy to share that my experience was superlative!! Angel, Liam, and Caroline were fantastic with their hospitality. The libations were fantastic and I can’t praise the smoked salmon Benedict enough. I will be back and cannot give a higher recommendation. Thank y’all so much for making this solo traveler feel welcome!!❤️
Awful kitchen service. Fish n chips were thin and like leather
Kinda expensive for lumpy mashed potatoes and green beans cooked to mush. No issues with the server, just the food. Will not go again.
Smaller dining area, but beautifully kept. Great menu items. Ordered the burger and vineyard chowder and it was great. My partner ordered butternut squash soup and salmon and it was excellent. Exceeded expectations and will definitely be back.

Hands down the best Alfredo I've ever had, and one of the best chocolate raspberry cakes as well. Both of our cocktails were also excellent.

Had dinner. Interesting place, great bar was seats and a modest # of tables. Limited menu but good variety. Great cocktail list. Greta was our server, she was great. Old fashioned was delicious. The bread w maple butter is a must have. I had the burger. It was really good. Also had a side salad, which made feel less guilty for the burger. Good atmosphere, good service, good food. Give Gryphon a try, strong recommend

Overpriced and too slow. My second time and I just can't recommend. Food is good but just too slow and overpriced. Fish chowder (soup) was almost twenty for a small portion - just ridiculous. Then if course charge extra fee for using credit card. They won't answer the phone and don't seem to have enough staff to handle customers.

Our server was perhaps one of the greatest humans I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and the burger is the best I've had on the east coast.

Fabulous dining experience. Service was attentive without being overbearing. We had amazing crab dip, shrimp & grits and seafood soup and all were beyond delish. GF chocolate cake was wonderful finish.
Wine is reasonable. Very gluten free friendly.
