Wonderful family environment with super friendly staff, fantastic in house smoked meats and craft beers! Not sure what more you're looking for in Vermont other than perhaps a scenic drive through Smugglers Notch which happens to be right up the road.
We had so many good times here. We go every time we visit. Always a blast. Good food too. This time it was seemingly closed the whole week? Permanently? Who knows. I’m not sure what has happened to the area. Nothing is open anymore or closes super early. So sad ?.
Our group of 4 shuttled from Smuggs to the Brew Pub for dinner on a Wednesday night, 7 PM. The check in booth had a sign that made it clear the restaurant was short staffed and it would be a while to get a table. I get it and am quite sympathetic to restaurants that struggle to get and keep staff. Totally understand. However, to have 4- people stand in the doorway, being continually passed by those few hard-working staff and NEVER have one make eye contact or say anything to us in 25- minutes of waiting? That is rude and unprofessional. Dead stop. We called the shuttle to pick us up and return us to the resort. I’ve eaten here before and enjoyed the meal. Disrespect however is intolerable. We are done with this place (and we are 25- year owners at Smuggs).
So we were skeptical about going here since we just left Red Fox up the street and the service wwas horrible. We didnt even get to sit down and we could tell. We walk in and no one even acknowledges us as they walked buy us like 7 times so I had to ask "should we seat ourselves?" She said no I will seat you in like 15 -20 minutes. So I looked in the dining area and there was barely anyone in there. WTF?!?! How is service so bad these days. I dont get it. How do you make a living at service when your service is so bad. You realize you make most of your money on tips right? Anyhow we walked out and drove up the street to Brewsters River Pub. First of all the Fiddleheadf IPA is one of the best IPA's I've ever had. So totally stoked there. My wife had the Maple Manhattan and same deal. We loved our drinks. We hung out and had a couple before we ordered food. The food was good but the girl that served us was amazing and her name was Cal. I havent seen service like this in years. Almost every place we go to now is soooooo bad because they are so clueless as to what is important to the customer and what is needed in order to make it as a server. This girl had it all. After watching her do her thing and how attentive she was at her tables she is destined for greatness in her future. Just WOW. If you do decide to go here after skiing at Smuggs all day or because there isnt much else around you wont be disappointed. Ask for Cal and you will be glad you decided to stop here.
We absolutely loved coming here!..A wonderful cosy and friendly place to be in an evening. The beer menu is vast (always a good start) and the cocktails are delicious too! We spent most of the day and evening here - we didn’t want to leave. Our server was super friendly and always attentive to us…caaannntt wait to go again!
Enjoy the pub after our ski time and sometimes it isn't as busy so you can enjoy the atmosphere of nice pub with good food.
Food was very good and appropriately priced. Service was slow, but patrons were forwarded at check in. But the wait is not a deal breaker. Wait staff is friendly and attentive.
Just had the Family Dinner barbecue meal here. It was great and I’m from Alabama and know good barbecue. Loved the thinly sliced brisket. Amazing chicken and pulled pork! Maybe not the best ribs I ever had but very enjoyable. Maybe it was so good because of the Maple Old Fashioned I started with. None of the four of us had any complaints. Just in the area for a week staying at Smugglers Notch Resort.
Brewster river pub was a recommendation. For a burger joint, the food was pretty ?
Great burgers done exactly how we ordered them with hot, freshly cooked fries. Kayla was our waitress and she was welcoming and served us well. We'll be back.

Loved this place right away, from the warm wooden interior, laid back atmosphere, to the wall of beer coasters and signs near where we sat at the bar. Great staff, friendly and helpful. Great beer. Tried their English Bitter and it was excellent. We had an excellent app called Cauliflower wings. Pieces of cauliflower done like Buffalo Chicken wings. They were delicious and something different for us. This was a wonderful place and we will be back.
We were told short staff right as we walked in and that it would be a long wait without a reservation. We ordered a bunch of apps and they were average at best after the long wait it fell short. The beer on tap was great.
We stopped by this little gem for our first meal in Vermont and we were not disappointed! We were greeted as soon as we walked in the place and our orders were taken quickly. Our waitress (Kayla) had great customer service skills and was happy to share opinions on food choices! Artichoke dip was delicious. Some of us opted for Godzilla burgers (get the egg!) while others got the Vermont grilled cheese or the breaded smoked ribs. Basically, order anything on the menu. The food here is delicious!!
Amazing brewery. Delicious lunch after my hike at the Sterling Pond. Found this hidden gem on the road in the middle of nowhere. Amazing brewery with good selections and cheeseboard was amazing, just not many selections of cheese and I hated the pile of garlic cloves in there touching my food. Beer selection was great, plenty of parking.
Great Vermont beers, home cooked food, good service, very close to the sumgglers Notch resort. I recommend this place.
