Friday, 7/11, our group of six ladies had a delis dinner and time at the Fullerton Inn. We were greeted by friend staff & were provided with a table close to the main banquet dinning room, which was away from the tavern. We could talk & laugh without disturbing other dinners in the tavern. Hannah our server was sharp, attentive to our needs, and helped make our gathering wonderful. We all ordered different entrees & everyone enjoyed their selections. We are in Springfield this time every year for an aerobatic contest & we plan on returning here next year. The Fullerton is a beautiful Victorian inn. Thank you Hannah & other staff member for making our evening wonderful.
Saturday night out. Dinner at Fullerton great atmosphere. Food amazing flavor and quality. Real old world, very attentive service . Quiet town of Chester. Love the casual tavern. Five stars
I wanted to love this place but it simply wasn't it. It was Valentine's Day, which we expected to be busy, but we felt terribly for the servers working as they had to be their own bartenders, too. It was hard to track down our server when needed, but I give them credit; they were working multiple jobs at once, and doing a great job. The food was terrible. There's no sugar coating that. We didn't enjoy a single aspect of the meal itself. The martini I had was actually quite lovely, but I didn't bother ordering a second because it was too much of a mess in there. We were excited to leave and sadly will not be back. The overall atmosphere in there was 1/10 at best. It felt so awkward and uncomfortable.
My husband and I had a 7:00 p.m. dinner reservation last Friday, February 14. We were seated and given menus promptly, but it wasn't until about 7:15 that our order was taken. It took another 25 minutes for my husband's soup to be served, and our dinners didn't arrive until 8:00, a full hour after we had arrived. I realize that the inn was especially busy that night because of Valentine's Day, but there were four waitresses on duty, three of whom seemed to be constantly at the bar preparing and serving drinks or attending to the larger dining room or checking guests in at the front door. We would have hoped that staffing would be provided that was equal to the anticipated demands. Also, we had had dinner at the inn on Tuesday, January 21, an ordinary weeknight, and the service, while not as problematical as last week, was unusually slow. I hate to sound so critical, because our experience at the inn—the food, the ambience, the friendliness of the staff—was otherwise excellent. We intend to continue coming to the inn, but we look forward to prompter service.
The food is always good, and the service was excellent. The young lady that waited on us was very friendly and very attentive. Great place to eat.
Very quaint place. The fireplace was wonderful. Food was great. Nice service. All around nice experience. I recommend it.
Warm and welcoming establishment with classic menu options that offer something for everyone.
We were disappointed with the Fullerton Inn this year. Last year 12/23 they had the tables decorated, there was a gentleman playing holiday music, and the overall experience was very festive. This year the lights were bright like a warehouse (left on for set up), the vases were empty, no music, and the food was average. Very disappointed.
Stayed in the purple room! It was so cute and all the workers were so nice. 10/10 recommend!
Food and drinks: Incredible food!

Wonderful as always!! We sat in the tavern with a view of the gorgeous fire and enjoyed cocktails from the speciality menu. I highly recommend the Chicken Piccata which is served in a buttery garlic lemon sauce with asparagus. My partner got the pork chop which I usually don't care for, but of course I had to try it. I was shocked by how wonderful it was!! For dessert, we had to get the crème brûlée which was also incredible. Great atmosphere and great company.

Stayed there over the Thanksgiving holiday. The room we had was small but nicely furnished. Even though the room faced the highway it was quiet overnight. We enjoyed dinner in the Pub section of the dining room - reasonably priced and delicious. Thanksgiving day they featured a buffet style brunch with turkey and all the fixings. Again, food was terrific and the service was excellent. We will be back again for sure
Our food was delicious and delivered nice and hot. The pumpkin cheesecake is to die for! Get it while you can. It's seasonal. The atmosphere whether in the lounge or dining room is always relaxing.
Disappointed..after a 90 minute drive to the Fullerton Inn, seeing on the way there really wasn't to many place to eat we figured since there was dining and a cozy bar we would just stay at the Inn to eat. When checking in we asked about parking, only real parking is in front and all were mainly taken except handicap. We asked about dinner and he said they were completely booked, guess reservations were required which we were not told ahead of time. Anyway we found a pizza place just about 3 minutes away. After dinner we came back to the Inn, if you want a tv or need a phone this is not the place. No tvs in any rooms. Also our sink over head light did not work and neither did the bathroom light work the very next morning. Had to take a shower in the dark. The room was cozy when we went in, but the bed was horrible. I sat on it and sunk and felt like I was on the ground. Cob webs on the ceilings, in corners, and the electrical outlets were very loose. Over all you can say we were not very satisfied. Morning breakfast, we gotten coffee, but check your cups before using, I found mine was still dirty inside. Sitting in the commons waiting for the so called breakfast time, we sat at a 2 person table that had coffee spilled and dried up on it. Breakfast is basic, bagels, muffins yogurt etc. If your just needing a place to collapse and lay your head fine. But for an Inn to be a main stay here in Chester you would think the upkeep and cleanliness would be a little better. This is probably our last and only stay here. So if your in Chester Vermont you may want to look else where.

First, I booked the reservation on Booking.com for Monday night and Tuesday night. The inn contacted me the Thursday before to let me know they are closed on Mondays. We could still let ourselves in but no one would be working. (They need to contact Booking.com and make sure they clarify this to their customers and then give a discounted rate or just not open for business until Tuesday) That also meant the kitchen/restaurant would be closed. One of the reasons we picked this place was because it offered breakfast with your stay. Never saw anything that even resembled breakfast except for 2 half empty coffee pots. It also has a restaurant in this Inn. Now we are staying at this Inn and were turned away for dinner because the kitchen was so far behind....seriously. That is a horrible thing to do for someone who is staying there. Poor business there!! Room was small and cold but had a space heater. They don't have house keeping and claim they do not enter your room, yet after being out all day, we came back to an envelope on the nightstand that said "Gratuity"....for what? That takes a lot of nerve 🤬. I am so disappointed on all levels with the poor advertising and poor hospitality!! I really feel that I should be refunded at least one night(like the night we had to let ourselves in and no employees on site). This was supposed to be my dream "Hallmark" vacation.......yea it's only in the movies. 😥👎

Disappointing stay overall. The room was fairly dated, which I could excuse, and chilly. It seemed like the heat wasn't on, even though the low was around 50 °F overnight. The walls are amazingly transparent to sound. Other guests were generally respectful and quiet, but it's still not lovely to hear everything. I also felt bad for my own creaky bed disturbing others whenever I moved. I was happy I hadn't booked a second night.
I was hoping for a decent breakfast on my way out, given that the inn is also a restaurant. But I saw only some plastic-wrapped muffins and bagels, and a pot of coffee. I walked down the street to a cafe instead.
