Fabulous first time glamping !! What a beautiful oasis to come and recharge batteries . Weather was variable but we stayed dry and the location was gorgeous clouds , fog rain and all . Owners warn you ahead of time to read FAQ about clamping since it is self check- in . Read info ✅ we had one lovely meal in the Bristol that Lee manages . Excellent food and service . Highly recommend if you want to be in a laid back part of beautiful Vermont .

A relaxing weekend spent glamping in Vermont! All the conveniences of a hotel with the fun of a tent! Highly recommend! And have dinner at Blackbird Bistro! Tasty food, great speciality drinks, and attentive service!

Stayed one night in the King Suite. Very nice accomodations, spacious. comfy bed, nice bathroom with heated floors. Nice bistro in the back with good food & beer. that itself gets a high rating, but I was stranded after a car accident and they quickly accomodated me at last minute and even came and picked me up during the beginning of a snow storm. Very thankful to them and hope to make it back someday when not under difficult circumstances.

The Farmhouse is fabulous. The location is beautiful. The family that runs it are amazing people who grew up here. Nothing but positive things to say. We got to experience the cafe but not the Bistro. Give it a try and you'll love it.

We stay for a week at a nearby lodge and have come to love Blackbird Bistro through the years. Wonderful food and service. The outdoor dining is sublime with the large tent to enjoy. Keep up the great work!

What a lovely time we had “glamping” at Craftsbury Farmhouse! We booked three nights in one of the sturdy canvas tents set high upon a grassy hillside, overlooking farm fields along the Black River valley and rolling hills beyond. The tents are cozy and feature a queen bed (very comfy), nightstands with LED lanterns chairs, battery-operated fans, and even strings of battery-powered string lights for ambiance. Outside your tent is a picnic table and fire ring. There is a large indoor bathroom with shower available, plus a screened-in porch with a sauna and hot tub for guests to enjoy. There is also a small lobby off of the porch with a coffee maker and a small refrigerator guests may use. Our last night there, we had dinner right there at Blackbird Bistro, which is on the premises. We had eaten at the Bistro a couple of times in the past. It is a hidden gem of restaurant in the midst of the rural Northeast Kingdom. We love the craft cocktail offerings! Fantastic option for a unique stay in an uncommonly beautiful area. We hope to return in fall, and maybe try one of the available guest rooms in the farmhouse itself.

We loved our stay in the farmhouse. The full suite was a great size so my husband could get some work done in the morning while I slept in, and then we could meet up with family up the road. The bed was cozy, a/c kept us cool, and the farmhouse was lovely. Would happily stay again.

We stayed in the King Suite for a women's getaway and could not have picked a more perfect place! The room was plenty big enough for 3 people. Beds were so comfortable - even the day/trundle bed. The space was cozy, clean, tasteful with many nice touches. The pictures and description are completely accurate. The price was very reasonable for the amenities. We had wonderful massages at the wellness center next door, a relaxing soak in the hot tub, and a delicious meal at the Bistro. We would not have changed a thing! Can't wait to come back again. It would be a great place to stay in every season of the year.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the king room. It’s really large and yet very cozy. It has a fridge so we were able to bring our breakfast and dairy for the coffee they provide. We brought our own tea since they have an electric kettle. We love the dinner we Got at the bistro that is right downstairs.

We were looking for a quiet place to unplug for a couple of days, and the Craftsbury Farmhouse couldn't have been better suited for that. The owners have clearly put in a lot of effort to make each space warm and inviting, exceeding expectations set by any ordinary accommodation. We got everything we needed at the general store just a short drive away, and hunkered down for two blissful screen-free nights. We even enjoyed a meal from the Blackbird Bistro downstairs. We didn't get a chance to experience some of the other amenities on site,

We loved the space for our three night stay in Northern VT. We liked it best when on the nights when the restaurant was open because the closest dining options were pretty far away. But, the property was really nice. The breakfast basket we ordered was well provisioned.

Enjoyed the quiet and the attention to detail. Best to stay when the restaurant is open, else, need to drive into town for dinner. They do provide coffee/tea and a microwave. Everything was clean and organized.

This is an adorable place to stay and the sisters/owners provide such a lovely experience on a lovely property. We came upon it while looking for a place to stay since we wanted to go to Hill Farmstead brewery (a pretty quick drive). We were lucky to book the queen suite. It is two good sized rooms, which was nice if you need space or wants your kids in a separate room. As just two people- it was amazing and gave us a separate sitting/coffee area. The bathroom is outside the room in the hallway- but it is private as the midwifery you share the hallway/floor with with has its own bathroom inside. The property is adorable and you can have your coffee by the river. It is the top floor of the farmhouse, so if you have mobility issues, just know it’s a somewhat steep short set of stairs. But no problem for us, a not so young couple- and very well worth the effort.

My family spent five nights at the farmhouse. It was a wonderful experience. It was spacious, and there was plenty of room for 4 teenagers to maneuver. The beds were all comfy, and the rooms were stocked with the basics. The air conditioning kept us nice and cool each day as the weather warmed up. They had a few family board games that we enjoyed playing at night. We loved having access to the hot tub each night. It was clean and well maintained. The grounds were beautiful. The bistro restaurant that is attached was an excellent addition and did not take away from our stay in any way. I only met one if the sisters( Jesse) , but she could not have been friendlier or more helpful. This was the farmhouse her family’s had for 5 generations , and the love for the home is evident and shines through. We kayaked at nearby lakes, visited general stores, hiked to waterfalls , and just generally enjoyed the outdoors and time away in a beautiful setting. If you want a lovely get away - this is the place!! Great for a romantic weekend for two or the whole family!

We were looking for a vacation to completely unwind, yet be stimulated by the new. The Craftsbury Farmhouse fit the bill. Coming from Boston, the population and traffic sparsity was a big plus. The gorgeous , quiet countryside was all around us, the way life must have been a century ago. We stayed in the Queen suite. The bed was comfortable, and the room attractively decorated. There was a window AC which kept us comfortable on some very warm days. There is another sitting room as part of the suite, but you will need to go into the hallway to access it. We had a fan going in the window of the sitting room but the room was still hot. Finally we noticed there was also a ceiling fan attached to an overhead light. Once we turned it on, it was better, if the temperature didn't get too high outside. We had a massage and spirit animal session. Both great. The Blackbird Bistro was spectacular. The vibe is unassuming, but you have some serious culinary talent in the kitchen. Every single meal was exceptional. And of course the inventive, delicious bar offerings are unparalleled.. Loved the man who managed the restaurant and sat us. So helpful and accommodating. Loved Lee, the owner of the bar - kind, interesting, inspiring. Loved the 3 sisters - all of them easy-going, sweet and bright. Restaurant seating inside is lovely and outside, well, you've got the countryside. We also ate one night at the Highland Inn. They represent themselves in a somewhat more elite way, and yet, we found the food at Blackbird Bistro far better - fresher, more creative, simply tastier! We went hiking at Bar Hill, hung out at Caspian Lake, hiked and kayaked at Lake Willoughby, saw a show by Bread and Puppet, went to the Dog Chapel. (It made me cry -- notes upon notes of remembrance to dogs who have passed. Very moving. Went to Fairbanks Museum and the Planetarium. Went to Farmers' markets and cemeteries. So much to do, see, and feel. Craftsbury Farmhouse was a wonderful and memorable base.
