We had such a wonderful stay at the Dorset Inn!! We were pleasantly surprised by all of the amenities and level of hospitality! Everyone at the Inn were so very friendly and the restaurant team was absolutely superb!! Wonderful breakfast was ready for us in the morning, both at the Inn and also at the Dorset Bakery. We had a separate living room and the area was so cozy/comfortable that really added to the ambiance! On top of everything, the Inn front desk staff gave us many useful tips for the activities we did in Dorset/Manchester during our stay. Walking distance to multiple hiking trails in Dorset and only a short 15 minute drive to Manchester.
I would 100% suggest the Dorset Inn to anyone visiting Southern Vermont and cannot wait to come back!

This place is a top notch operation. Exceptional amenities in the rooms. Rooms themselves are amazing and immaculate. The restaurant is outstanding. Best restaurant around. Super high end dining experience and fabulous and friendly staff.
Best food 🥘 fresh and great service from everyone , gabby my waitress she is wonderful 😊😊😊😊
Without a reservation we were still warmly greeted and given a perfect table in this historic inn's main restaurant, situated on the green in the pretty town of Dorset.
The waitress worked hard and was very helpful as were the other staff. My Dorset Inn salad was perfectly fine but nothing out of the ordinary and not large. I had grilled 6oz salmon added. My husband had a more unique but small beet and goat cheese salad with an added patty. We added the two small dinner rolls. The price for this and one iced tea was over $100!!
(including tax and tip). The high price is the reason for only 4 stars. Charging for small dinner rolls just doesn't sit right. For the same price we ate at Barrows House two nights earlier and the food, value, creativity, and overall experience was much more memorable and substantial. And the (same?) dinner rolls were included at no charge.
The service and hospitality is unrivaled! Everybody was super helpful. Great breakfast (included). Bakery down the street was also amazing. Such a beautiful area. Will definitely go back
We just had a wonderful family reunion at the Dorset Inn and we are already talking about planning another one! It is a magical Inn with lovely & unique rooms (we all loved seeing each others rooms!) incredible food for breakfast & dinner, charming sitting areas where we gathered each night around the fireplace, and best of all, the staff, who were so kind and helpful! We will be back!
Good food
Good service
We have just returned from a family gathering, with a large group of us staying at the Dorset Inn. We could not have been made more welcome by the staff! Each room is so unique and so very comfortable. Your morning breakfast options were just delicious. We loved sitting around the fireplace sharing laughs or playing games, and again, the staff were so helpful and friendly, checking to make sure we had what we needed. On our final night our group of 20 had the most amazing dinner - EVERYONE loved their choices for dinner and dessert. Thank you, Dorset Inn, for making our time there so very special!
One of the best meals I’ve ever had!! Staff was very kind and warm, will definitely make the drive out to return!! 11/10 experience
Friends and family stayed along with us at the Dorset Inn after a birthday celebration at the owners other establishment, Pearl's Place and Pantry. The staff at the Dorset Inn was welcoming and very pleasant. We enjoyed the Inn's library choices and settled in with a good book and a digestif in front of a cozy fire to bring our evening to a quiet end. Although the Inn has an appealing old New England charm, I was pleasantly surprised that the sleeping and bathroom accommodations were modernized. The bed very comfortable.
We had many choices for the morning meal, which was delicious and beautifully presented. This was definitely a 5-star stay! I will soon plan another trip to the beautiful Dorset Inn when I can stay longer!
Rooms: Tastefully decorated, comfortable beds, modernized bathroom. We had restful stay.

We did not stay at the Dorsey Inn but had a nice dinner here. Food and atmosphere inside the tavern eating area was beyond our expectations! The specialty fall drinks, fresh bakery rolls and main dishes were some of the best. The butternut bisque was exceptional and crème brûlée was a perfect end to a great meal. Suggest making reservations for the tavern room that has fireplace and bar area.
Food and drinks: Amazing dishes that use the best local ingredients!
