Essex Junction Grand Buffet Reviews
I now have a no trespass order for 1 year because I disputed the automatic gratuity on my bill. I was forced to pay it because they said there's a sign upon entering stating that they charge gratuity to your order. I did not see it. They are very sneaky about it and don"t tell you up front. It is 18% which I find ridiculous for a self serve buffet.
food good .went to pay only had 50$ bills gave her 2 . 63.27 got back 6.73??? I stood there looking at change .I gave you 100$ no 50 and 20.she opens drawer pulls out 50 and then 20 .I see that but I gave you 2 50$ just walked away .well gave her 36.73 tip
Food was horrible, 6 empty bins. When we complained they said they were getting ready to close because of weather so they stopped cooking. I asked why we are being charged full price she responded, "You lucky we open" No! you're lucky I paid the bogus bill of 52.00 for lunch for 2. Oh, they now add on 18% gratuity automatically, you have no say about it.

Essex Junction Grand Buffet is a Chinese restaurant known for its delicious food, friendly staff, and affordability. The service is efficient during peak hours, with a good turnover of food. While there may be language barriers and potential congestion in the drive-thru area, the weekend food options are a highlight. The establishment is well-run and recommended for both takeout and dine-in options. However, some recent experiences have been disappointing, with complaints about the food quality and service. Customers have noted that the food can seem stored for a while and that the automatic 18% gratuity feels excessive, especially in self-serve settings. Despite these issues, the restaurant's decor is described as dreamlike and serene, and the food remains crave-able and delicious, with fresh lemonade being a popular choice. The staff's attitude has been noted as sometimes rude, which impacts the overall experience.
