quality of food was awful, was very disappointed.
We, a party of 7, came in on Sunday, around 11 am. The 2 waitresses told us that they stopped serving breakfast and only served lunch. We were ok with that. However, after sitting for 15 minutes, around 11h15, we wanted to order, but the waitress told us to wait for another 15 minutes because the kitchen was apparently switching from breakfast to lunch. However, the 2 waitresses ignored us and took orders from several guests that come after us. They completely ignored us, and at this point, we had to wonder if there is discrimination against us. We sat down almost 20 minutes, and all we got was a rude attitude and a few coffee and OJ. No one even bothered to come and help us to order. We ended up leaving without trying any food.

Food was all homemade. I had wonderful chunky vegetable soup and the gluten free tuna melt ever. The atmosphere was pure diner, I could see a cliff across the street and all waitstaff were friendly. It will remain a pleasant snapshot in my mind and I will return next time I'm in the area. If you like a diner atmosphere this is the place to go!
Dietary restrictions: I have three significant restrictions and because they make all the foos there I was able to have a great meal without worry.

Delicious breakfast and good Vermont vibe at this quaint diner. We ate at the counter and got to watch Jan cook and direct at the same time. If ‘not screwing around was a woman’ - my impression of Jan - continued success you deserve it !

We were driving from Massachusetts to Canada. We wanted to stop somewhere local for lunch
Jan's Fairlee Diner is a perfect, quaint small town diner. I had their homemade Reuben. The corned beef was made in house. Fabulous "foodie" fare!
My son enjoyed their chowder. He delighted in the giant pieces of fish.
My daughter was pleased with her grilled cheese.
If you are traveling along 91, try Jan's Fairlee Diner. Magnificent!

Jan's has the best blueberry pancakes I've ever had. I feel like there was a pint of fresh blueberries in my stack of 3 pancakes. So crispy around the edges, perfectly moist, and the way the berries are folded into the batter. Amazing. And then of course top it off with real maple syrup. I will go out of my way to come back here in my travels to the White Mountains.

Just barely average diner food, adequate service (they've been understaffed for breakfast the last couple of times we've been).

Great food and great service. Prices are higher than comparable establishments, to be sure.
