The food was good yet pricy; staff was attentive; steps & walkway were very icy nearly causing a serious fall, owner was rude when told about the icy conditions.

Rude. Will never return. There are many more options for a drink, a meal and a view. What a joke.

The food was excellent as well as the ambiance and service. We had the Cod Provençal and Osso Bucco. Both were very special. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. I would heartily recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a special evening.

We were visiting from Rhode Island and had planned to eat at Simon Pearce but they were all booked up. So we walked across the parking area to the Parker House restaurant. We were a party of two without a reservation, showing up around dinnertime. All of their tables were already reserved too but they managed to squeeze us in at a small table in the bar area. We ended up having a wonderful evening! The cocktails, service, and food were all amazing. I think we spent at least three hours there - at one point our server kindly told us "the table's yours for the night so don't rush". After dinner we weren't sure what drink we wanted and the bartender (Adam) came over to us personally to have us try a drink before we ordered; once we gave him feedback he immediately went back to the bar and brought us just what we wanted. Next time we're in town we won't even try to go to Simon Pearce - we'll just go back to Parker House!

Always a fun time at the Parker House. Great food and drinks, wonderful staff and cozy rooms. Our favorite place to stay in the area.

The food was excellent — hats off to the chef/kitchen. My husband thought the salmon was the best he'd EVER had. Flavorful, cooked correctly, delicious.

Beautiful inn with amazing views of the ottoquechee river and the BEST food around. Not to mention the wicked cool bartender and his wife who is the chef. Always amazing food, drinks, and company.

The food was excellent -- hats off to the chef/kitchen. My husband thought the salmon was the best he'd EVER had. Flavorful, cooked correctly, delicious. The service was not what we expected for this nice of a place; they appeared to be understaffed. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation time and waited almost 10 minutes before anyone spoke to us, although several wait staff passed us in the entryway. Then a man, who turned out to be our waiter, asked us to wait until they went to clean off a table. After my husband's soup, I asked what the small bowl of oil and herbs was for on the table. Waiter replied "for the bread," and then realized he had not brought us any. It was delicious too, but was brought to the table after we had begun our entrees. Waiter also did not check regularly to replenish drinks. Sometimes it is the little things.

Just wrapped up a wonderful three-night midweek stay at the Parker House. It had been a couple of years since my last visit, and owners Adam and Alex have made some thoughful improvements since. My room was bright and comfortable, with robust air conditioning and wifi, and lots of places to unwind.

We had a beautiful dinner at the Parker House restaurant on their outside deck overlooking the river. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. It was very charming. One of the nicest settings to eat in the Woodstock area for sure right next to the falls. I would highly recommend it.

My dinner Wednesday began with a quick stroll through the formal[ish] Victorian dining room, to the lively, eclectic back bar area, where Adam, owner/barman, offered a warm, lively greeting - as he did for every guest. Two perfect martinis later, my dinner companion arrived, and we were seated on the charming back porch which faces the Ottauquechee River. Chef Alex's menu is full of imaginative twists on French classics, with an emphasis on [very] local ingredients - "farm to fork" before someone dreamed up that particular marketing gimmick. We started with the mussels Provençal, followed by the beet and pear salad, both bursting with flavor and freshness. My nephew raved about the osso bucco, and I tore into the seared salmon. The service team was wonderful - attentive but not overbearing - and Adam made some great wine recommendations from the PHI's very extensive list, which is full of small vineyard gems at every price point. After dinner, we retired to the bar and enjoyed an hour of conversation - over a bottle of extraordinary burgundy - with a handful of guests and locals. A great way to spend a midweek, sultry summer evening in Vermont. This was the second of my three meals at the Parker House this week, the others just as imaginative and memorable. The Inn is warm, authentic, timeless, and worldly - exuding the personality of its wonderful owners - and miles from the tired faux barn/shabby chic/soulless corporate vibe that's so prevalent in New England towns that depend on tourism.

We absolutely love it here! Five years straight and it's always delicious and fun. Great views. Maya is amazing and Adam is great fun. I'd recommend dishes though we've had them all and they are all amazing!!! Will be back again next year!
