I've been dining at Simon Pearce for 27 years. Something has changed in the last year. The management seems off in that it does not run as smoothly as it did. Staff is not as elegant and knowledgeable as they have been in the past. But, the biggest change has been the food. The classics that have been on the menu forever are mediocre now at best. Over sauced fish, lack of flavor, a general sense that the freshness that once was a standard is not there. I noticed small things that felt thoughtful are no longer on the plate. For instance, the pickled ginger and plum sauce for the sesame chicken. Additionally ,the offering of goat cheese for the salads. Small details that made a difference. The whole restaurant feels to be in the hands of someone other than the Pearce family.

Excellent fall selections on the specials. The mocktails were perfection as well as the specials dessert. We had the perfect waterfall view. Lasting memories made from our visit.

Our server was terrific and made great recommendations. The food came out on a perfect schedule and was absolutely delicious. The after dessert coffee was freshly brewed, strong, and aromatic just the way I love it. Definitely going back

What a marvelous afternoon we had at Simon Pearce yesterday! The setting is gorgeous; the ambience comfortable and lovely; the food: inspired. The Vermont Cheddar Soup is not to be missed. Raves for the Horseradish-Crusted Cod and the Spinach Mushroom Quiche, also, and the Chocolate Mousse Bombe. And our servers, Andrew and Lalena, were the bow on top with their kind, personal service. A perfect 10.

We recently had lunch at Simon Pearce. The view of the dam and falls from our table was lovely. The food was unremarkable, with the exception of the chocolate mousse bombe dessert - excellent! Serving small pieces of savory scone and brown bread was a nice touch, but both were tasteless. The arugula salad had a few tiny bits of Cabot cheddar, smaller than rice, that added very little to the dish - highlighting this local product with larger chunks would have truly enhanced this salad. The burger was well prepared and cooked as ordered.

Food is outstanding. Main dishes were particularly well done...shepherds pie and roasted cod were excellent.

We had a wonderful and memorable experience. The overall experience was remarkable, from the setting along the river and waterfall and covered bridge, the actual glass blowing downstairs, the food, service, and general laid-back elegance, it was the perfect night for a special family dinner.

We had called some 3 weeks ahead to reserve. We were treated with an incredible table and view. Our server Andrew was absolutely a delight and very knowledgeable about menu, etc.. he added such a great vibe to our time at Simon pierce . We were meeting with friends we hadn't seen in 30 years and were given the time to fully enjoy our delicious meal and dear friends. Thanks Andrew, and staff. A memorable afternoon !

Service was excellent. We were a bit disappointed with our two favorite dishes. The Crispy Chicken with Noodles recipe must have changed as it wasn't as good as we have had over the past 4-5 years. It wasn't crispy and it had a weird sauce. The Maple Crème Brûlée did not have the rich maple flavor as in the past and it only seemed to have maple in the toasted sugar on top. Not the same delicious rich flavor as before. Simon Pearce's food has slipped in quality that we have come to expect over the years. The Cheddar Soup was Excellent and the special Black Bean Soup was good, but would have been elevated to excellent with either a slice of lime juice or topped with cilantro.
