The Hindquarter offers an absolutely amazing catering experience. Chef Luke Stone and his team turn out amazing wood-fired menu items, provide excellent customer service, and are all around wonderful people. They prioritize locally grown/raised/made products from reputable sources, and otherwise invest in quality items for anything non-local. As a wedding planner I hire this team as often as possible to serve my high-end clientele and the clients are never disappointed. In fact, I am continually met with “best food I have ever had at a wedding”. Shoutout to Hans, Meg, Forrest and the rest of the team for being all-stars. Looking forward to the 2024 season!

We got married in Vermont in October but are from Toronto so we didn't have an opportunity to go down and taste the Hindquarter's food before booking them. Although some thought it was a risky move, it could not have turned out any better. The Hindquarter did a fantastic job with our wedding food and every guest I spoke to since has raved about the food (and has been jealous that they are not also getting married in Vermont so that they can book the same caterer!). I didn't think that the food would be something I would remember about my wedding day, but thanks to the Hindquarter I can say that I will be pining for that meal forever!!

From the very first phone call to last bite of the very few leftovers, The Hindquarter knocked it out of the park. I am speechless except for this: they were helpful and communicative throughout the whole planning process and I couldn't imagine doing it without them. Dozens of guests said it was the best wedding food they have ever had. One said, "This is my new favorite restaurant."Highly recommend reaching out ASAP, they are so great. 10/10.

We booked Hindquarter for our wedding after everyone told us to book them, and we couldn't be happier that we did! Not only were they incredibly easy to work with - Luke and Megan are so flexible and on top of everything - the food was OUTSTANDING. We were blown away by our tasting, and the food was just as amazing at the actual wedding for 160+ people.We are vegetarians, so we wanted to put forward a veg-heavy menu. We offered chicken as the only meat entree, and our guests could not stop talking about how amazing not only the chicken was, but also the lentils and potatoes. Everyone has told us it was the best wedding food they've ever had.Initially, we were nervous to do a buffet, but the buffet turned out beautiful and did not look like your standard buffet table. Everyone moved through the buffet lines quickly - it was incredibly well managed.If you are lucky enough to have the opportunity, book Hindquarter!

Luke, Megan, and everyone else involved with our wedding catering were absolutely fantastic. They knew exactly what they needed, had recommendations for us on timeline and other items we may have overlooked, and also...the food was unreal. We were so excited to have a caterer that used local ingredients, and we were not disappointed. Every single item that came off the fire was creative, perfectly executed and exquisitely plated. Standouts were peaches and cream with little buttermilk biscuits, halibut, the street food stationary starter, porchetta...I mean come on! It was easily better than most restaurants I've been to, and to execute that plating and presentation in a buffet is really special. Anyway, I'm gushing, but if you're lucky enough to book Luke and crew just know you are in for a treat!

The Hindquarter catered my daughters wedding. The venue was tough for the caterer, but they were so accommodating and professional. The food was amazing. The staff was fantastic. I cannot recommend highly enough - you would not be disappointed with The Hindquater!

Luke and The Hindquarter were one of our very first bookings for our wedding, and boy were thrilled to have them! We immediately loved the idea of having food cooked over the fire, but it was the first phone call with Luke that sealed the deal. He's an expert; the way he talks about weddings immediately inspires confidence and calm. We were planning everything from out of state, and Luke made it remarkably easy and fun.Not to mention how stunning the food actually IS! My husband and I had the time of our lives at the tasting, and at the reception we must have heard about a hundred times that it was “the best wedding food ever," from guests. The presentation is out of a magazine... in fact, I believe they were recently featured in Vogue! (Congratulations, wonderful people!!)The menu options are unique, fresh, and basically all of our favorite foods. And speaking of favorite foods, they have these chargrilled oysters! I must have eaten a dozen of these, as the very kind staff kept walking them past my husband and I during cocktail hour. What a tremendously happy memory.Thank you, Luke and The Hindquarter for making our wedding unforgettably delicious and special. We can't wait to come back to VT and eat more of your incredible food! HIRE THEM! :)

We hired The Hindquarter for our wedding last month and everything was absolutely incredible. The day went seamlessly and we really appreciated the team coming and bringing us a plate during the cocktail hour to make sure we got to try everything. I probably had every single wedding guest come up to me individually and tell me that not only was it the best wedding food they've ever had but that the apps especially were some of the best they've ever had, period. It was absolutely a hit in every way and the only thing I wish we did differently was to order a bunch of extra meals to have leftovers. Luke and his team were so communicative and helpful as planned changed. We had quite a few GF people (including the groom) and they managed to make the entire wedding meal gluten free so people weren't limited. I can't recommend them enough!

They even made a sauce based off our family’s recipe, which was such a special touch. The food came out amazing and all our guests couldn’t stop talking about it. Wow, we’re not even sure where to begin. Luke and his team are complete professionals. We’re awestruck with how perfectly our menu and event was handled. We had a small wedding (16 people) at a private lake house. The Hindquarter team arrived on time and immediately went to work. They were so kind, friendly and one step ahead of us all evening. When the night was finished the completely cleaned the kitchen, washed all of our dishes and neatly put leftovers in to go boxes. Many of our guests confirmed it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding.Having worked in hospitality for 10+ years, I highly recommend The Hindquarter for their food quality, service and professionalism.

If you're looking for an event caterer, STOP. LOOK NO FURTHER. You've found the one. Luke was wonderful to work with, and has a ton of experience with event planning. The day of our wedding, the caterers were our favorite people. They snuck us snacks, delivered us an entire tray of appetizers when we were stuck posing for photos, and built us dinner plates when we couldn't get to the buffet ourselves. They also packaged up EXTREMELY DELICIOUS LEFTOVERS for us to take home. One of our wedding goals was that people would be talking about the food for the rest of our lives.... and we certainly achieved that with the Hindquarter. People were complimenting us all night for picking them, and guests continually left the reception to compliment the crews cooking outside. One of the highlights of my day was my now-husband helping me eat a confit chicken wing while in my wedding dress. One of his highlights was getting slipped a piece of short rib right before walking into the ceremony. We only regret not eating more. The carrots with labneh? PHENOMENAL. The corn fritters with honey? To die for. The gnocchi was by far the best gnocchi I've had in my life. AND THE SMOKEY CREAMED KALE? NUTS. The Hindquarter team provided incredible catering for our wedding at a great value. Luke and his team were transparent during the menu selection process and provided everything we requested on our big day. The on-site team was a great group who cooked an amazing meal after arriving on-time and getting straight to work setting up. They felt like "part of the crew" on our day and were wonderful to talk to and fun! I would absolutely recommend The Hindquarter for catering of any event, big or small!
