The Garlic | Italian Reviews
Incredibly Disappointing Experience
I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at The Garlic in Killington was so unacceptable that I feel obligated to share it. From start to finish, the night was chaotic and uncomfortable.
Shortly after we arrived, a person who did not appear to be an employee was walking around the restaurant asking guests for money “on behalf of the kitchen staff.” This person repeatedly came up to our table, harassed us, and even...read full review
Fabulous meal start to finish! The atmosphere is cozy. Our server Dave was great. We highly recommend.
Three times…. Add on charges….even when TOLD by house wait staff… there’d be NO extra charge. Sorry Charley….. that ain’t right. I’m gone…..

Based on the reviews, The Garlic | Italian is a cozy Killington gem, perfect after a day on the slopes. The rustic vibe, garlic braids, and warm lighting make it feel like a classic mountain trattoria. The servers and hostess are all pleasant, friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making it easy to enjoy the good food and nice ambience. The fresh bread with roasted whole garlic, Parmesan and olive oil is a thoughtful touch, and the artichoke dip is fabulous. The creamy mushroom penne is rich but balanced, and the veggie pasta is super comforting. The chocolate mousse is the perfect finish, light, silky, and indulgent. Other menu highlights include the ahi tuna with potatoes and roasted tomato, chicken piccata, and tiramisu. The tuna tartare, marinated mushrooms, and escargot from the tapas menu are also a home run. The calamari is crispy and plentiful. The only miss was the penne à la vodka, flavorful but texture odd. A fun and unique experience at the generally tastefully themed restaurant. It is a great choice for something other than burgers and chicken fingers. Definitely worth coming back next ski trip.
