We had not been to Red Slate in quite a few years, but it was just like we remembered it! Very quaint and cozy, it fits right in with the Magic Mountain atmosphere! The burger was great, huge! Definitely don't get up there enough and look forward to going back!

Located on the access road to Magic Mountain, is a small rustic quant “fish & chips” restaurant with high quality food, good wings, chicken and beer. If you’re looking for a routine lunch or dinner after a long day of hiking, skiing or shopping, highly recommend.

As usual we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the Red Slate!!! We always have a great time, a delicious meal and we leave looking forward to our next visit!

Wings and servers were great as well as drinks and desert. Main meals disappointing. Spices were overused on salmon and pesto , fried fish had lots of batter on it and overcooked.

Not only is the Red Slate restaurant convenient when you're staying at the cozy Upper Lodge or skiing at Magic Mountain, it's got delicious food and the service is super friendly. It does take some time to get dinner, but that's because everything is made fresh! So just be aware, and relax! Enjoyed the food, the service, the cozy space. Definitely recommend.

Great place for relaxed family dining after a day of skiing. Friendly, helpful staff. The burgers and fish fry were great and the cocktails were delicious.

We always enjoy the service provided. Wings never fail to please, as do VT based cocktails.

I’m hoping that our poor dinner, steak was tough, with marginal service is not your norm. You came highly recommended. We had dinner last Sunday. Maybe not a strong day. Waitress said there was only one cook in the kitchen so they couldn’t take us early. We made a reservation. That might have been an indication they were struggling. Unfortunately not a good experience.

This was a weird experience. Sunday night the weekend between Christmas and New Years and there was almost no one around. Maybe 10 people at the bar, which was lively and appeared to get drinks and food quickly, but only 2 tables of 4 or fewer people in the dining room. We arrived, and it was 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged us at all. Finally the bartender came around and confirmed our reservation and sat us, without menus. Another few minutes and the waitress said she would be right there. We were given waters, and a another 5 minutes before we had menus. The drinks were slow to arrive, but the broccoli cheddar soup came out quickly, and was absolutely delicious! We waited another 40 minutes for our dinners - both the same pesto linguini with grilled chicken. I was underwhelmed: the chicken was grilled and tasty, but the pesto was flat, the linguini undercooked, and the dish needed finishing with a touch of cream or parmigiano. It was also served with summer squash and zucchini - an odd touch of summer for a holiday weekend. We were given a free dessert for our wait times, and the waitstaff was friendly albeit missing. Probably won't revisit this one, even though I am a local and we have a lack of restaurants to choose from.
