Food is out of this world fantastic! We had the Grilled Pork Chop, and the Switchback Ale Braised Short Ribs. We were cared for by Terri, Josh, Michelle, and Matt. Wonderful dining experience, highly recommend this gem!
Always so good! Staff are amazing - so warm and welcoming. The food is always delicious. RP never fails to deliver a terrific meal.
Matt & Audrey were a pleasure to spend the evening with! On to Stratton to ski for three days!!
We visited this restaurant for the second time and vow to always try and stop by here for dinner whenever we are in the area. This time, we were slightly disappointed in the food. We had the cheddar ale soup but the ale flavor was a little too overpowering. We ordered the lamb shank could have been more flavorful and the couscous was too watery. The cod was delicious. Wish they had a few more dessert options. We will still be coming back only because we still love everything about the restaurant - but maybe we will order different dishes next time. Also shoutout to Terry who is always very sweet to us. See you next time!
Our Valentine's Day celebration was perfect! Delicious creative food, wonderful service and a beautiful environment.
We ate dinner here. The dinner was amazing. Staff was wonderful. I have a gluten allergy and they were so accommodating. Food was sooooo good. Excellent!

We enjoyed our stay here in this lovely inn. Beautiful spacious well-appointed room with comfy bed and large luxurious bathroom. Breakfast basket was tasty but a little odd. Only one choice of hot beverage but I like tea and my husband needs coffee so we had to compromise (I lost!) Just a minor quibble in an otherwise delightful stay. Special shout out to Richard who was very welcoming.

We had the new fall menu...outstanding! I had the crab stuffed trout and my husband had the venison. We shared the lobster and Brie fondue to start. Excellent! Terrific flavors and perfectly done. Great wine list. Terrific service with Michelle. We will be back.
We celebrated our daughter's birthday last night at the RP. The meal was outstanding! We have a gluten sensitive daughter and her dietary restrictions were accommodated with no fuss. Nearly every item on the menu could be adjusted to address her dietary restriction.....no limited options! We had the Foie gras and Cheese platter as appetizer. Both delicious. My husband ordered and enjoyed the tomato soup. the pork chop entree was very tasty - polenta and crispy Brussel spouts were cooked to perfection. My daughter commented it was the best pork chop she ever had. The food was served at the perfect temperature too. My husband enjoyed the short ribs and my other daughter was very happy with the stuffed trout (prepared as GF). We skipped dessert (birthday cake at home), but did partake in a few after dinner cocktails. I did note in the reservation this was a birthday dinner and a lovely plate of chocolate covered berries arrived with our after dinner cocktails with a Happy Birthday message. very thoughtful! Service was impeccable and the ambiance was lovely.

Finally, a restaurant that doesn't smother the good food in heavy cream sauces and tons of salt! They have the confidence to let the quality of their ingredients and their true culinary skills shine.
I’m a frequent guest at the Reluctant Panther. With a Cat in tow every time.
Richard and the staff go out of their way to accommodate your every need.
We try and get a bungalow off the main building. I get my own porch complete with rocking chairs and a view of the pond and fountain.
BUT THE BIGGEST SECRET IS…
Their food is NON PAREIL! I’ve been coming to Manchester Vermont for 5 years and eaten at a lot of restaurants, but YOU WONT FIND BETTER CUISINE ANYWHERE (and I live in NYC).
If I could move in permanently I would!

My husband and I hosted our wedding party at the inn as well as our rehearsal dinner and welcome party. Their team went above and beyond to make the weekend so special. Morgan worked with me for over a year planning every detail. She was so organized and so kind. The service is impeccable, the rooms are beautiful, and the food is fabulous. I highly recommend for anyone hosting a wedding in the area. We will be back!!

Shrimp and corn salad was missing the corn. Lamb was requested to be medium rare and it came out well-done. Fortunately the wine was not bottled on-site. Rough night for the kitchen.
My husband and I stayed in the Justin Morgan room last night. Such a delightful surprise! Loved everything about it. Beautifully appointed, amazing vibe. Treat yourself!
