Brace yourself for the BEST MEAL OF YOUR LIFE! My husband and I have high standards for fine food and this was the pinnacle of all of our many experiences. We had 2 appetizers (tuna carpaccio and goat cheese soufflé), 2 entrees (Mahi mahi and the salmon special) , and dessert (bread pudding) and each piece was exquisitely prepared. The chef is a true artist of the palate; each taste was pure bliss! Not to mention the beautiful building and perfect service! We could not have asked for a better 25th anniversary/birthday meal! Thank you!

We had a trip planned to Manchester VT and were excited to try this place. Highly rated and we’re looking forward to a nice meal after a long hike. Understanding the reservation guidelines and minimal hours we attempted to contact over a week prior to make a reservation. Calling s few hours before opening, leaving messages as the voicemail suggests and calling multiple times within a day. We never received an answer or a response. We must have called this place 8 times to try and make a reservation. We decided to try and walk in. When we got there the hostess simply said “she doesn’t pick up after opening”

So my question becomes when do you pick up the phone? It seems this place has had its success and decides they do not care about basic customer service or being accessible. I’m sure the food is great and it looked lovely inside but they failed miserably before we even got the chance to diner there. Based on their attitude regarding reservations…. I assume they don’t care for my business but I will say this: Complacency is the route of failure.

I want to be fair - the space is wonderfull - the food was a complete disappointment on many levels - I don’t understand the rave reviews - we dined tonight with a table of 6 - everyone was underwhelmed - details - the brisket was so dry almost unedible - the Bolognese tasted like it was made 1/2 hour prior to serving to us - no layers of flavor - almost raw onions - no layers of flavor - bland and served with supermarket ziti ???! Really ??? We own a home in Manchester - lots of better options - had the Lamb burger at Burger Depot for lunch - it was the the thing we ate today - had to write this review tonight so I could sleep - ashame

We’re visiting Manchester for a few days and the locals recommend Silver Fork. The dinner was outstanding! The presentation was perfect and the food was even better. I had the Creole Shrimp Monfongo and my husband had the Plantain Crusted Mahi Mahi. Both were exceptional. Don’t leave Vermont without dining here!

Warm and welcoming, very comfortable atmosphere. The food is of the highest possible quality and is consistently made to perfection. This time, I ordered the duck. It was the most delicious meal I have ever eaten.........ANYWHERE! My sister had the schnitzel.........AGAIN. It's outrageous! The menu is diversified and the servers all hold the bar very high in what they do. Melody and Chef Mark have created a diamond in Manchester, Vermont! An absolute must if you are in the area.

From start to finish The Silver Fork is a unique fusion of styles. Nestled in a former library, the dining room evokes a mid-century modern vibe while still feeling very in line with Vermont aesthetic. Divined across two floors, the space feels perfect for anything between a social meal with friends to a more intimate dinner with a partner.

The fusion theme continues when you get to the menu. A mix of dishes that span different countries and cultures there is some for everyone. While I tried the lamb meatballs and potato bravas, the mofungo appeared to be a fan favorite.

This restaurant has been on my list since my last visit to Manchester about a year ago. Please note that my reviews are weighted based on the type, price, etc.

First of all, the atmosphere and concept is wicked cool! Old converted library...love it!

We sat in the upstairs bar area which seemed to have a bit different vibe from the main floor but still loved the room. Sitting at the bar is clearly very popular.

We started with some cocktails from the menu...I had the VT old fashion and it was really good with nice combo of vanilla bitters / VT maple syrup.

Moving to the apps, we had focaccia (tapenade was outstanding - this is a must have), tuna carpaccio, and roasted pear. The tuna was very nice with capers and white onion but the onion overpowered it a bit imho. The pear with goat cheese had really nice blended flavors...the pear was a bit firm and more goat cheese would've been great but it is another must have. Solid starters.

For dinner we had mofongo, mahi mahi, and wienerschinitzel. The presentation for the monfongo was outstanding and the flavors were excellent. The mahi mahi was solid. The wienerschinitzel and German potato salad was absolutely traditional and clearly a signature dish with nice presentation on a plank. It was very good and while I know it is not traditional, I would have loved a bit of Jager sauce (or even better, some lingonberry jam) again imho.

We did order dessert with dinner (takes 30 minutes to prepare) to try the bread pudding and it was definitely worth it. Very good flavor but would've loved a bit more of the cream mainly because it was so good!

Everyone there is really nice and extremely friendly. We had a visit from Melody (owner) which to me is always a huge plus for a restaurant like this. Thank you Melody!

Overall, eclectic menu ranging from German to Puerto Rican which clearly highlights the chef's experiences. My scores for food and service are based on similar dining experiences. If in Manchester and you want a fine dining experience in a really cool atmosphere, this is your place! Oh and great touch having the bill in a book ?

Not what I was expecting. I have read so many great reviews and was super excited to try this place out. Our food was good, not horrible but certainly not, I have to go back and try that again. I got the crab cake which was a small dish of good crab with shoe string fries. Tasty but nothing special for $42. I had no drink for my meal, we were told the bar staff had Covid so the wine was not chilled..I was not asked if I wanted something else…We waited over 25 minutes after our meal for a dessert we were advised to order with our appetizers. The bread pudding was tasty but at that point I was annoyed by the timing and service so hard to judge. Overall not that impressed, which really bummed me since so many friends recommended to me, I wanted to be blown away.

Luckily Melody the owner sat me without a reservation. Steven the server, was knowledgeable friendly and helpful! I ordered the three cheese onion soup, the caramelized smoked salmon and mango with cucumber and avocado and my main dish was slow roasted brisket with spaetzle and horseradish cream. The cheese and the onion soup was to die for. The caramelized smoked salmon was the best salmon I ever tasted in my life, the mango, cucumber and avocado just highlighted it. The slow roasted brisket with spaetzle and horseradish cream was the topper, the beef was so moist and tender and melt in your mouth, the homemade spaetzle was delicious and I fell in love with the horseradish cream! I highly recommend The Silver Fork and I also recommend making reservations. 5 star *****

Outstanding Family Dining Experience!

We dined at The Silver Fork last night as a family, and it was an unforgettable experience! The food was simply outstanding. We tried the mofongo, salmon, onion soup, and bolognese pasta, and every dish was cooked to perfection. The flavors were rich, and the presentation was beautiful. The highlight of the evening was the bread pudding—we couldn’t resist getting two, and they were out of this world! The service was equally exceptional, with attentive and friendly staff who made us feel right at home. This is a must-visit for anyone looking for an incredible meal. We can’t wait to return!
