Had an amazing experience - absolutely beautiful space with giant windows framing the mountains, warm and personable service from everyone, and stunning food. Calling it fusion does not do it justice, just spectacular flavors start to finish. Bread pudding for dessert was a star. Must visit if you are in the area

This restaurant is phenomenal -- in my top 3 of favorite places I've ever eaten. The food & atmosphere are magical (a converted library??? c'mon). If you're anywhere near Manchester & looking for a splurge on a nice dinner, this is the place.

One of the coolest restaurants I've been to in awhile. Such a great atmosphere for dinner. The service was great, especially Camille the bartender.

I got the short rib with spatzle and was a little underwhelmed. The short rib was a bit dry and flavorless. Luckily the horseradish cream helped it.

The bread pudding was the bomb though! Definitely get this.

Silver Fork – Manchester’s Culinary Crown Jewel

If you’re anywhere near Manchester, Vermont, dining at Silver Fork is an absolute must. I had the pleasure of visiting with eight of my golf buddies, and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences we’ve had — hands down. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and professionalism of the staff stood out. They gave us a beautiful round table tucked into a private cove within the restaurant — intimate, elegant, and perfect for a lively group.

The setting is as special as the food. Silver Fork is housed in the historic Mark Skinner Library, a beautifully restored Carnegie Library building dating back to 1897. Its grand yet cozy design, high ceilings, and rich wood interiors create an atmosphere that’s both refined and inviting. What really adds to the charm is the rotating gallery of local Vermont artists’ work lining the walls — and yes, the art is for sale, which makes the experience feel deeply personal and rooted in the community.

At the heart of it all are Chef Mark French and Melody French, a dynamic husband-and-wife team. Mark, a classically trained chef with decades of global culinary experience, brings incredible precision and flair to every dish. Melody, who runs the front of house, brings a warmth and attention to detail that elevates the service to a whole other level. Together, they’ve created something truly special — not just a meal, but a full sensory experience.

Our server was phenomenal — knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu and wine. Speaking of which, we ordered three bottles of the 2017 Susana Esteban “Procura,” a rich Portuguese red that wowed the entire table. Easily one of the best wines we’ve had in years — deep, bold, and perfectly suited to the meal.

We started with an incredible spread of small plates:
• Tuna Carpaccio — bright, delicate, and layered with olive oil, capers, and fresh herbs.
• Goat Cheese Soufflé with fig jam — warm, tangy, and utterly addictive.
• Chicharron de Pollo — crispy and bursting with citrus and garlic.
• Duck Eggrolls — savory and satisfying with a standout spicy peanut dipping sauce.
• Steak Tartare with quail egg — executed flawlessly.

For mains, we tried:
• Creole Shrimp Mofongo — a standout with bold Caribbean flavors and perfect texture.
• Plantain-Crusted Mahi Mahi — vibrant and fresh with a creative twist.
• Lobster Risotto with Prosciutto & Asparagus — rich and luxurious.
• Woodlawn Farmstead Brisket with Spätzle & Horseradish Cream — an absolute masterpiece.

Everything was flawless — the service, the wine, the food, the ambiance. Silver Fork is upscale but never pretentious. It’s the kind of place where the history of the building, the passion of the chefs, and the soul of Vermont all come together. We felt like honored guests in someone’s lovingly curated home.

We’ll be talking about this meal for a long time — and planning our return. Bravo to Chef Mark, Melody, and the entire Silver Fork team. You’ve set a new standard.

Dinner for two with tip was $200. That included two appetizers (the patatas bravas was awesome), a mocktail and a cocktail, two entrees (highly recommend the pulled pork gnocchi) and an insanely good dessert (bread pudding).

The hostess was super welcoming - we could've chatted with her all night, and the waitress was great as well.

Atmosphere is really unique and cool! Good music as well - mix of jazz, classics, and chill indie pop.

Easy 5 ⭐

We had the best anniversary dinner here! The food was incredible, service was top notch, and the space and ambience were so beautiful! HIGHLY recommend the Caribbean bread pudding - best bread pudding we have ever had!

Brace yourself for the BEST MEAL OF YOUR LIFE! My husband and I have high standards for fine food and this was the pinnacle of all of our many experiences. We had 2 appetizers (tuna carpaccio and goat cheese soufflé), 2 entrees (Mahi mahi and the salmon special) , and dessert (bread pudding) and each piece was exquisitely prepared. The chef is a true artist of the palate; each taste was pure bliss! Not to mention the beautiful building and perfect service! We could not have asked for a better 25th anniversary/birthday meal! Thank you!

We had a trip planned to Manchester VT and were excited to try this place. Highly rated and we’re looking forward to a nice meal after a long hike. Understanding the reservation guidelines and minimal hours we attempted to contact over a week prior to make a reservation. Calling s few hours before opening, leaving messages as the voicemail suggests and calling multiple times within a day. We never received an answer or a response. We must have called this place 8 times to try and make a reservation. We decided to try and walk in. When we got there the hostess simply said “she doesn’t pick up after opening”

So my question becomes when do you pick up the phone? It seems this place has had its success and decides they do not care about basic customer service or being accessible. I’m sure the food is great and it looked lovely inside but they failed miserably before we even got the chance to diner there. Based on their attitude regarding reservations…. I assume they don’t care for my business but I will say this: Complacency is the route of failure.

I want to be fair - the space is wonderfull - the food was a complete disappointment on many levels - I don’t understand the rave reviews - we dined tonight with a table of 6 - everyone was underwhelmed - details - the brisket was so dry almost unedible - the Bolognese tasted like it was made 1/2 hour prior to serving to us - no layers of flavor - almost raw onions - no layers of flavor - bland and served with supermarket ziti ???! Really ??? We own a home in Manchester - lots of better options - had the Lamb burger at Burger Depot for lunch - it was the the thing we ate today - had to write this review tonight so I could sleep - ashame

We’re visiting Manchester for a few days and the locals recommend Silver Fork. The dinner was outstanding! The presentation was perfect and the food was even better. I had the Creole Shrimp Monfongo and my husband had the Plantain Crusted Mahi Mahi. Both were exceptional. Don’t leave Vermont without dining here!

Warm and welcoming, very comfortable atmosphere. The food is of the highest possible quality and is consistently made to perfection. This time, I ordered the duck. It was the most delicious meal I have ever eaten.........ANYWHERE! My sister had the schnitzel.........AGAIN. It's outrageous! The menu is diversified and the servers all hold the bar very high in what they do. Melody and Chef Mark have created a diamond in Manchester, Vermont! An absolute must if you are in the area.

From start to finish The Silver Fork is a unique fusion of styles. Nestled in a former library, the dining room evokes a mid-century modern vibe while still feeling very in line with Vermont aesthetic. Divined across two floors, the space feels perfect for anything between a social meal with friends to a more intimate dinner with a partner.

The fusion theme continues when you get to the menu. A mix of dishes that span different countries and cultures there is some for everyone. While I tried the lamb meatballs and potato bravas, the mofungo appeared to be a fan favorite.
