It's a great and affordable place to eat. Took clients there often. Unfortunately they now require College I.D.s. It belongs to the college and it's their rules. They don't want peasants or actual Middlebury residents going there. Typically

As I was walking around town I asked a "local" where should I eat. . . this young lady said we go to The Grille. . . just for reference. . .this College age appropriate and not for tourist or people visiting from out of town. So.. if you are in school and attend college by all means visit the Grille. I will say we got a good laugh out of the entire interaction

Relatively the only place you can get food during after hours or around 10pm evening time. They do serve quiet a range of American food (burgers and stuff). They have pool table and game settings. They have small stage below in the first floor where people have practiced "dancing" and shows.

There were four of us and we all give the grille a five star. Service was super the food fabulous we all got something different all being very good. I had chicken parm sandwich salad and clam chowder. Awesome Hawaiian melt was delicious also the stir fried great. We are from Amherst ma and Florida and we will be back.
I miss the gravy. Middfries will NEVER be the same. Dr dow is still the goat

This is a typical Middlebury College hangout place. I don't know how I feel about a college-owned business and I also wonder how it sustains itself, but it's still kicking and thriving as we speak. The smoothies are good, but as a broke college student, I don't have the money to be buying smoothies regularly. (I instead find myself here when free food and drinks are involved!) (I do however want to say that my friend Juniper, a trusty employee of this establishment, had invented the Juniper smoothie, and it's pretty good. I'm not sure if it's still on the menu, but if it is, I'd give it a try for the heck of it.) The baristas are typically student workers, and they are some of the friendly faces that you may expect to see on campus. The roster of students working here also always changes as each class graduates or goes abroad every year. As a meeting space, this place is pretty ideal. Plenty of booths to sit and do work at, plenty of tables to do the same, there's even a conference room to host events like dinners or meetings.
