My favorites are the ginger tofu stir fry and the Veggie Pad woon sen! This is a takeout only, home kitchen based place! Order at least 2 hours early! You will be very pleased!!”

“I cannot thank Paris and the team enough for all the help with a surprise birthday party. There was 20 of us and they made it look easy. The food came out tasting perfect and within great timing. Our server was very attentive and kind. They helped set up decorations before we arrived. I’m so grateful it went as smoothly as it did. Thank you so much!”

“The whole family enjoyed an excellent meal tonight start to finish. Service was friendly and quick. The setting was beautiful. Salads were fresh and flavorful. Had the kalette appetizer which the whole table enjoyed. Entrees were fantastic! I had the rib eye. One son had the steak au poivre; another had haddock with heirloom tomatoes, and my husband had the pork chops. We all agreed it was a perfect meal. We ended the meal with wonderful desserts - maple creme brulee, marscapone cheesecake, banana bread pudding, and ice cream with a praline topping. Just the right size and sweetness to finish this wonderful meal. We hope to be back soon.”

“I was visiting Middlebury for a few weeks and decided to try this restaurant. It was excellent! I ended up returning many times during my vacation. My favorite dish was the Paneer Tikka. Definitely worth your time to go here. I never dined in the actual restaurant but their takeout business is great. My food was always hot when I picked it up.”

“I wish I could give out a rare 6 star review. Today, my friends and I stopped in for an early lunch and were blown away by Costello’s.

To begin, the restaurant/market offers a welcoming and warm vibe with plenty of selection of wines, pastas, oils, treats, and deli selections to regularly purchase at any time. Things are clean, well organized, and presented well.

The service was absolutely exceptional. The host was exceptional in her service and friendliness. It is rare I do this, but I need to go out of my way to say just how much she made my day from how friendly and professional she was. She handled a very busy lunch rush with style and grace; effortlessly.

The food was sensational. I got the brisket, one of my friends got a Cuban, and one got a big salad. All were absolutely amazing. Fresh ingredients. Flavorful and thoughtful combinations, and perfect execution. The menu is extensive, and excellent. Their seafood options are very strong as well. Thank you to my man in the back. You make amazing food!

Overall if you need a great place that has you covered with the nice red wines, deli selections, pastas, sandwiches and fresh ingredients then stop by today! Because of your service and how delicious the food was, I will be sure to come back again. Thank you so much. You have a wonderful business. We will be back again!

“Update: chatted with Danielle (owner) and they must have been having an off day when I went the first time. I returned with a smaller group and the flatbreads had plenty of toppings and service was very good!

Old review: Not a great spot for groups or value. Our waitress was really annoyed we were ordering small flatbreads. If you have an issue with it then just don’t take large reservations? Pretty much forced me and another guy in my group to share 1 large rather than make 2 smalls, which ended up being an awkward dance because even though the food tasted great, like a 3rd of the flatbread didn’t have any toppings so we just shared a lot of bread. Finally, they don’t split the tab more than 3 ways, which is wild in 2026.”

“I've been going to Middlebury bagel and deli for decades now. I've never had a bad meal, and as someone allergic to corn, I really appreciate that the bagels are all made traditionally without corn meal. I honestly think these bagels and donuts are the best in VT. They are certainly the best I've ever had in New England.”

“My friend and I visited yesterday 09/30/2025 for her birthday lunch as she is "Vegan and gluten free" and this looked perfect. It was perfect!!!!! The whole experience was a 10 out of 10. Excellent delicious and healthy organic soup for lunch with a peanut noodle salad, and of course a slice of banana, chocolate, nut bread. The gentleman who took our order delivered our food to our table with a smile. We talked about our lunch experience the rest of the day. Can't wait to go back. Thank you so much, Dena & Erika”

“Had dinner there last night for the first time, it was delicious! The yellow chicken curry (asked for not spicy) had a little kick but tasted great and made for excellent leftovers for lunch. (That we just learned) Domino's in Middlebury has hired delivery driver's who are on the sex registry. While I agree everyone deserves a job, this is not an appropriate role for them. If you choose delivery as your option, be wise. Driver's have access to your phone number, address, and may engage with your under age household members!”
