5 Best Dog Friendly Restaurants Middlebury

Golden Rule Mead Winery •
8 Elm St, Middlebury

“If you're ever in or around Middlebury, don't miss the opportunity stop in to Golden Rule. It's easy to miss as it's in what looks like a residential house. However there is parking on premises in the back. The owner Alex is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his craft and is happy to share his knowledge of this wonderful fermented beverage and the process of making it. Most importantly the mead itself is wonderful and drinking here really feels like a one of kind experience. Alex is great company and his passion for creating delicious mead pours through in each representation the drink itself. His recipes are unique, delicious, and full of surprises. I came with a small group most of whom had never had mead before and were skeptical but by the end of the tasting Alex had made mead fans out of all of them. Definitely a special place, don't miss the chance to go if you're in the area.“

The Stone Mill Public Market Pet Friendly •
3 Mill St, Middlebury

“Great wine selection, along with a small but thoughtfully curated section of savory and sweet treats that can be paired or enjoyed solo. Lots of cute stuff and plenty of local flavor on display. Very glad I stumbled upon this spot! I would definitely recommend it if you're a wine lover or are looking for a gift for that hard to please matriarch figure in your life. Also: they accept Apple Pay! Super convenient!“

Vermont Hard Cider Cideries •
1321 Exchange St, Middlebury

“As a Vermonter, Woodchuck is the first cider I started drinking (and my favorite). I now live in the Chattanooga, TN area and can only get limited flavors. On a recent trip to Vermont my goal was to go to the cidery and do some taste testing and buy some cider. My friend and I split 3 flights and I bought 3 different ciders. I also learned that Woodchuck is the only importer of Magner's cider, my other favorite. And, psst, they bottle all of Aldi's cider too! (Though they aren't supposed to tell you that, the address on the label says so.) The production line wasn't running, unfortunately, but it was cool to hear how much their production has increased. Now all we need down here is a distributor who'll bring us better selections!“

Woodchuck Cider Cideries • $$
1321 Exchange St, Middlebury

“Nice spot to decompress and have some of Vermont's own cider. Short self guided tour with some info but the main attraction is the tasting room and the cider. The tasting room was very nice and comfortable. The bartender was great to talk to and get to know. I will be coming more often.“

Drop-In Brewing Company Brewery • $
610 US-7, Middlebury

“I was here during a tasting trail and had a sampler flight of 7 beers, which I believe is the number of taps they have. There was a nice mix of year round brews and rotating recipes. Normally I trend towards stouts but in this case Heart of Lothian was my favorite. My recommendation though is to try them all! They have an assortment of board games on tables inside - we played Trouble while sipping our brews. There are a few tables outside as well. Definitely worth a visit.“
