“This turned out to be a great little place for lunch! I have driven by it many times and mistook it for some kind of an industrial or storage site. I suspect a colorful awning out front would do a lot to make it feel more “restauranty”.There isn’t a huge selection of lunch items and there doesn’t seem to be a way to see which soups are available without talking to someone at the counter, but there’s definitely a lot of ice cream, and the location is certainly convenient for anyone on Commerce st, or the industrial park.“
“Easy five stars. I was doubtful that I'd get my money's worth for a $16 bowl but the firecracker bowl put my fears to rest. It was phenomenal, the portion sizes approached excessive (but don't worry-- I managed to eat it all), and everything was fresh and delicious.“
“Stopped in Sunday afternoon for a felafelto go. Top notch sandwich, heavenly thin warm lavash rolled up with hint of purple cabbage, gorgeous chickpea balls ( not oily) and yummy sauce on the side. Nice atmosphere, very clean fast service from bartender. Resisted, with difficulty , the Vt maple baklava ! Will be back with friends !“
“The food was great. Highly recommend the Smash Burger or the wings. Loved that they had a range of drinks from great beer to delicious non-alcoholic options. What I am most impressed with is the staff. I could feel the inclusive, people-centric vibe from walking in the door. The entire staff was kind, patient, and so helpful. I’ve never felt so welcomed at a restaurant. Highly recommend Burlington Beer Company for your next outing.“
“My maple latte and rooibos latte were absolutely delicious and very well made. There is very little seating and honestly its kind of cold inside, and the barista was loudly watching TV before and after making the drinks which I didn’t love. Overall, really good place to grab a delicious drink and skedaddle.“
“Have lived in Burlington for 7 mos now and our first time here was today! Absolutely loved the atmosphere - great jazz music playing, clean and cozy. The staff was incredibly kind and knowledgeable and made killer drinks. All 3 drinks we got were amazing. Can’t wait to go back and try some new ones. They have little snack platters on their menu too! Highly recommend if you’re in the area.“
“Even if this place is not a "gluten free" place, they offer a wide selection of gluten free food. We were a group of 6, including 2 gluten intolerant/coeliac and we had the gluten free pizzas (the small ones (that are not that small!!) can be gluten free, but the large ones are not available gluten free (not a big deal, btw!!))This is absolutely tasteful and the 4 of us that had those GF pizzas without needing them to be GF didn't see any difference with regular pizzas! The place is warm, nice and the service is fast and always comes with a smile.Located in the Church Street area, this place is truly a must. We will be back for sure!!Dietary restrictions: Wide selection of gluten free food. Also many vegetarian food. Overall, it is tasty ?“
“Great little brewery to stop by. Plenty of seats and space. Had a pretty good selection of beers on tap. We tried the smoked beer flight. Not really my taste, but they were brewed well. Next time I'm over there, I'll try some of the other beers they have.“
“Very cool coffeeshop right in front of the Co-op has great coffee and standout pastries - best croissant ? in Burlington so far - still have more to try. The building itself is a yuppie dream warehouse situation.Parking: Parking is tricky to get into because the access road right next to the coffeeshop is one way. Enter through the Howard center and there is another entrance in back.“
“I'm obsessed with the bold low lighting in here, great for my sensory issues. I love the non alcoholic options and the "soda flight" as a fun thing to try. They have small dishes as well which are great for snacking. The couches and decor are comfortable. If I moved back to Burlington ever I'd probably be a regular.“
“One of my favorite microbreweries in Vermont. The way I describe this place is like going to Cheers in Boston “where everyone knows your name”! The beers are awesome, the place is comfortable and has a nice ambiance, people are friendly and most importantly they love dogs. Yeah very dog friendly establishment which is cool to see.Denial and Vet are their signature and popular IPAs which are delicious. They have some porters like the WatchDog which is a great beer too. Nice place to stop by to chat, meet other people, play some games and enjoy good beer.“
“We enjoyed our beers and liked the space (including the dogs!) but there was a warmth missing from the vibe here. I asked one of the bartenders a question and they literally shrugged without any further response and looked away. I think that captures our experience at Foam. We would go back if in the area, but wouldn’t hurry to if there were other options.“
“My wife and I visit Brio every time we visit Vermont which is as often as possible. This past October we visited before spending a day in Burlington. My wife who is not a big coffee drinker had a Calypso espresso while I a big coffee drinker went with the single origin Ethiopia Shantawene. Fast forward 4 months and I am still dreaming about that single origin espresso. I roast my own coffee at home and drink a ton of espresso and I still have not been able to recreate anything like that experience. Brio is one of the best in the business and I 100% recommend stopping while you are in the Burlington area. I hope some day to be able to pull a shot of my own coffee that can re create that experience over again. Thanks for everything you do!“
“Citizen Cider is a good restaurant close to downtown Burlington, Vermont - not the best restaurant in the city, but a good one if you’re craving gastropub-y food! There are a lot of great gluten-free options which is a massive benefit to this place. We got a couple of different non-alcoholic drinks made with their All Times drinks (which were very good), the fried artichokes, Seoul tots, Pine St. poutine, fried Brussels sprouts, and the Citizen smash burger - literally all of that was gluten-free, believe it or not! We had mixed opinions about a couple of dishes, but we did really enjoy the Pine St. poutine, fried artichokes, and fried Brussels sprouts. Maybe skip the burger we got - that’s my only suggestion. All in all, this was a good place with great service and definitely one we would go to again if we were craving the type of food we got. You will probably enjoy it!“
“Amazing views and fantastic food. The clam chowder was full of clams and had a wonderful flavor, the lobster roll was amazing and super fresh tasting with a fair amount of lobster for the $30 price tag, and the maple ham wrap was super delicious. Additionally, they have a great little shop with some local products which makes it easy to grab souvenirs for friends and family!“
“This is my very most favorite coffee shop in all the land; I'm here most every day. Things that make this place tops for me, in no particular order: - The variety. Three different bean options for espresso (and three for hand brew) makes for a CYOA experience. - The rotating menu. As a human, I delight in novelty. As a human with anxiety, I tend to forgo that delight for the comfort of the familiar. When the familiar is removed, delight is foisted upon me. - The staff. Are knowledgeable of their craft and full of the secrets of fine brewing, much like alchemists. Unlike alchemists, they are glad to share what they know with the uninitiated (I am the uninitiated). - The space. I mostly like to sit up front, where the light is prettiest and I can look at the plants. - The treats. There are a few local bake shops that provide the treats in the pastry case, depending on the day. They are all worthy.“
“Their chocolate mousse is to DIE for. I live in the neighborhood and walk down to get it multiple times a week. It’s a go to spot for lunch, to grab stuff when I don’t want to make dinner. The staff is exceptional. Winooski is so lucky to have this gem.“
“Visiting from NH and wanted to check out some different breweries and this one was on my must try list. Black Flannel exceeded my expectations with an excellent selection of beer, great atmosphere and fantastic service. It was also a bonus to have the opportunity to learn more about the business. The logo is fun and I have added yet another brewery sweatshirt to my collection! We will definitely be back next trip to VT and look forward to trying more of the beers and the food!“
“Awesome ambiance, ample seating (and window seating!), and some of the cheapest finds in the area! Amazing food and SO excited to say their impossible burger is just as good as a beef burger good variety of beers and loved the loaded tots! #orderatthebar“
“Stopped in for a brew or two during my trip. Had conehead and green state lager. Overall, the beers were decent, not my exact taste preference, but pretty good. The establishment itself seems really cool. There was a little fireplace and a huge projector TV.The only reason for the 4/5 was the bathroom setups. I have no problems with single stall gender neutral bathrooms, which they have 2 of in the beer garden. However, the main restrooms were multi stall gender neutral. Not a fan of that, for women's sake. Too many creeps out there, and the setup was poor.“
“I’m probably too old for this place. It’s really dark and got pretty loud as it filled up.The Al pastor taco was delicious, the tinga was dry. Tacos are TINY. Also wish I’d known how small they would be because I would have ordered more than two. Salsa was not good. More like taco sauce that you’d put in the meat than anything.Cocktails were good but if you order them this is definitely not a $10-20 meal. I spent $40.Parking: I had to park three blocks away.“
“Was so lucky to see a post about Sweet Alchemy on a Vegan FB page and then remembered it was near where we were wandering on Saturday. The whole menu was vegan. Got the Rainbow Bowl and the breakfast bowl. They were both amazing. Great flavor, so filling. Then we got the carrot cake cupcakes for dessert. OMG!!“
“I finally got a chance to go to Arts Riot and am just sorry I had waited so long to go. It's a great place; a little quirky with a lot of interesting design features. The food is great, a fusion of Cuban and Peruvian cooking with special touches from an inspired chef. Check it out!“
“Came here twice over Indigenous Peoples Day weekend and loved it. Coffee was top notch. Great donuts. They’re practically giving away the breakfast sandwiches, which were awesome. The guy working the counter was really nice and gave good service too. Will definitely go back next time I’m in town.“
“The place to go when you are in Burlington! I tried the "Toad in the Hole" and it was actually EXCELLENT with that apple chutney. Their fries are also fantastic. Nice selection of handcrafted beers as well. Service was friendly and professional.I will definitely return everytime I am in that city, you should too as you won't regret it.“
“Very airy and spacious, this cafe is perfectly situated on one of the town’s busiest corners and benefits from lots of sunlight. The views onto the streets make it feel like Burlington has a cosmopolitan buzz! The space used to be upscale clothing shops and the ornate ceiling and old fashioned columns inside add a classy but still funky vibe. There is a wide choice of seating styles, from semi livingroom feel to lounge to study to window seating.Their daily drip coffees are excellent and smooth, truly several steps up most every other place in town (save for the few coffee specialists) and the food menu has several gems - even the avocado toast (usually an item that makes one cringe when considering the price paid for it) is inventive, satisfying and beautifully presented. The Smokey and the Biscuit is likely the king though, possibly the best breakfast sandwich around (and thanks to them for extending the time boundary of breakfast to 1pm).That said, other items could use a fresh review - the hot chocolate tasted overly sweet and not of fine grade chocolate, and their dessert/pastry offerings are uninventive and not tempting, generic. The place is mostly busy throughout the day, and it’s nice to feel an urban buzz in Burlington! Overall a super pleasant experience.“

“Have been here a few times usually for pizza, but have tried some pasta dishes and appetizers too. Pizza is really good, thinner crust, good sauce ratio. The buffalo chicken pizza is delicious, I never order buffalo chicken pizza and here we get it every time. The service has always been great. Last two times we went we've had the same server who is awesome, and even brought out some pizza dough for my 4yo to play with which it's always helpful to keep kids occupied until food comes. Highly recommend this place, we are from out of town but visit family locally and it's always my son's first pick to come here (and the adults are happy with always coming).Kid-friendliness: High chairs and boosters available. Staff great with kids.“
“Only 4/5 as my first experience was a let down ordering out during those wretched COVID years and feeling the food lacked in flavor and quantity. I live in the area and wrote them off for a while.Boy was I wrong! Everyone has off days. These folks are friendly as can be, their beer club collaborations are not only fun and unique but GOOD! The staff is super friendly and always working together to a new cocktail.Last but not least, every time I order food, it seems to get better. Stone Corral is finding their groove...looking forward to being along for the ride as a fan and customer!“
“We had our first meal here as an engaged couple! Our server did a phenomenal job and made our special evening even more special with how kind she was. In fact everyone in the restaurant was so incredibly kind and helped us celebrate our engagement, which made the entire experience at Shanty on the Shore shine like the diamonds on my fiancée's ring. We had the lobster (lazy man style) with the mac and cheese, clam chowder, and Wild Maine and PEI oysters which were all amazing. The view of Lake Champlain was breathtaking, the food was spectacular, and being able to enjoy the whole experience with my fiancée made this the best experience ever. They also gave us a piece of the key lime pie on the house as a congratulations on our engagement. Honestly, if you are in Burlington and you don't have a meal here, you have done yourself a great disservice. This place is 10/10.“
“Burlington has a lot of cool carts that for the most part, serve real good food. But nothing satisfies all your late night craving like two juicy burgers grilled to perfection with cheese and bacon slapped on top. Seriously, you need to become a regular there to truly enjoy it.“
“Great little local spot for breakfast or lunch. The wait can get a bit long during peak and they don’t take reservations so be prepared for that and allow extra time if that’s when you’re planning to visit. Service is prompt and friendly, the food is tasty (home fries were honestly perfection in my opinion) and the vibe is relaxed and welcoming. Covered outdoor seating is available until it’s too frigid and the big glazed ‘garage doors’ are opened up on nice summer days as well for an al fresco feel. Burlington could use more places like this (RIP Penny Cluse)!“
“If you are looking for fancy atmosphere, you're in the wrong place. If you want a tasty burrito, give The Firebird Cafe a try. This converted service station is a little funky but I loved my burrito. The rest of my party seemed to really enjoy their food as well.“
“Stopped here for the first time yesterday while in the area for a business trip.I don't think I'll ever again be satisfied eating at Chinese restaurants where I'm from after having the amazing food I got yesterday. It was so fresh, I waited about 10 minutes to eat my food and it was still hot. The teriyaki chicken was nothing like I've experienced at my local restaurants. It was so juicy and there was SAUCE?!? I wanna know where the sauce is over my way because they're always served dry where I'm from... looking like chicken jerky lolThe young lady who took my order was so sweet and kind.Whenever I wind up over that way again, this will be my #1 spot to go for lunch or dinner. All in all it was a pleasant experience for my first time in the area, and I will be going back the next time I'm in VT.Thank you so much for the delicious food ❤️“
“I’ve been to this restaurant many times for many years. Sometimes the food is dry, sometimes it’s not. Sometimes the servers are great, sometimes they’re not. Overall I would recommend this place for decent food. Don’t expect life changing experiences, but the atmosphere is decent and the crepes are generally pretty good depending upon the attentiveness of the cook on that given day.“
“Super nice spot to come with friends or family--it has a very chill vibe with lots of vintage video and pinball games (very nostalgic for my parents). When my family went there were even some live performances. The space is big, with both indoor and outdoor seating and, for the outside, there are lit fire pits (which we took full advantage of whilst waiting for our food). Rather than ordering from a server, we were able to place the food orders online and have them brought to the table. The food menu is limited, but is classic American fare--everyone was able to find something they enjoyed. The drink menu is definitely where they shine more. Personally, I was a fan of the hard cider.“
“Not sure why this place doesn't have better reviews. I've been coming here for almost 3 years as it's always a reliable spot to scratch that sushi and miso soup itch. Great local spot with reasonable prices and good food. The folks working have always been kind and respectful.“
“my home away from home, my grundle away from grundle. Golly gee I love this place. I can only express my love through art so a las I wrote this haiku for you, grundle:Where the meat is moist,Where I come to feast and love,Oh grundle, my love.“
“Delightful staff, amazing food (the pretzel is a MUST) and appropriate precautions made this an absolutely perfect place to celebrate my daughter's first day of camp. We will be back often!Kid-friendliness: Solid kids menu and the food is very consistent. This has been our go-to restaurant with the kids for 3 years now. The staff is wonderful and there is something for all of us on the menu!“
“I was surprised by the variety of their menu and very happy with the food I ordered! We had the rosemary chevre dip, halloumi kebabs and Thai peanut chicken tacos. Everything was delicious, and the local beer selection was excellent. Friendly service from Kevin at the bar, too! Looking forward to my next visit.“
“Our new favorite! Our son was diagnosed with Celiac this year and we were hesitant to eat out. Jules has been wonderful for our whole family (mom, dad, 5 year old and 18 months old). It is a little quieter atmosphere which made me nervous the first time we went but the staff and other patrons have always been so kind and welcoming to our kiddos and small amount of chaos they bring. The gluten free menu, including kids menu is excellent and the staff is knowledgeable. The desserts are a highlight (we are fans of the gluten free carrot cake). It has been terrific to go out as a family and have equal options for everyone, thank you!Dietary restrictions: Great Gluten Free options, knowledgeable about the restrictions and cross contamination risksKid-friendliness: So kind, last time we wrote letters to Santa and they had a special mailbox, well about a week later Santa had written back. My son was thrilled!“
“Great place for cheap beer and cheap pool. If you are looking to just drink and have a good time with friends then this is a great spot. Plenty of other good places if you want a more family friendly atmosphere or more thrills with more costly drinks.“
“Stopped in after a day of skiing this past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed their beer. Especially enjoyed New Day, Tropical Illusion, Tru Pils, Proper Mild, and even Winter Warmer. Great variety and laid back atmosphere. Will be back the next time I'm in the area.“
