Great wine selection, along with a small but thoughtfully curated section of savory and sweet treats that can be paired or enjoyed solo. Lots of cute stuff and plenty of local flavor on display. Very glad I stumbled upon this spot! I would definitely recommend it if you're a wine lover or are looking for a gift for that hard to please matriarch figure in your life. Also: they accept Apple Pay! Super convenient!

Have stayed many times at the Rooms at Stonemill and absolutely love it! Great location for exploring Middlebury. The rooms and shared living room space are impeccable, furnished with local artisan furnishings and artwork. Very stylish and comfortable. The downstairs shopping and wine bar is a must for unique quality gifts...we will be back many times!

Love this market on the banks of Otter Creek! Carries lots of unique home goods, gifts, stationary, plus a selection of wines and a small assortment of cheeses/tinned fish/crackers. Has a cafe too, definitely worth checking out!

We stayed for several nights at the Rooms in the Stone Mill. This building is truly a gem that has been lovingly restored and preserved to provide an unforgettable experience for its guests. As an enthusiast of history, I was in awe of the authentic charm that enveloped the entire place. The attention to detail was impeccable, from the modern, comfortable furnishings to the tasteful artwork adorning the walls. It felt like staying in a five-star hotel, but with a unique and personal touch that only a historical building could provide.Lastly, I cannot praise the hosts enough for their warm hospitality and attentiveness. They were genuinely passionate about ensuring that my stay was nothing short of perfection. From their helpful recommendations on local attractions to their prompt responses to any queries I had, they truly went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and cared for.

It turned out a friend’s glowing recommendation of The Rooms at the Stone Mill was not glowing enough! Our room was both stunning and impeccably clean. The staff could not have been friendlier, more courteous, more welcoming. The Rooms at the Stone Mill is perfectly located making everywhere we wanted to go and everything easily accessible. The Rooms at the Stone Mill provided coffee, wine, work and socializing space, great gift shopping, a terrific restaurant and perhaps most importantly a wonderful night’s sleep.

Recently stayed here based on the recommendation of a friend and loved it! The location is amazing with easy access to the college and downtown and parking is included. Got a great night sleep (super comfy mattress) and was very happy to find the room extremely clean. Also love the modern aesthetic of the room, in a cool historic building. The shop downstairs is neat, lots of cool finds. Plan to stay here again when visiting the area - great experience!

We had a wonderful stay at the Stone Mill. This historic landmark building was recently renovated to incorporate rooms with ensuite bathrooms on the top floor. Elevator access and ADA accessible, I enjoyed The River Suite, which is spacious, serene, so clean, and bright. The modern furnishings have a calming Scandinavian aesthetic, with no old Grandma vibe whatsoever. The owners provide lovely amenities like luxe towels and premium bath products; the Public Market downstairs made our impromptu wine and snacks an easy fix in the common area that connects to the Rooms. It is quiet yet close to everything, an easy walk to Middlebury College. The bonus is ample outdoor seating alongside the Otter Creek, which was so scenic and "Vermonty." We look forward to returning in the Fall.

Any public market that is both highly curated and engaging is alright with me! This pair of ex-Corporate Americans truly have their fingers on the pulse of what matters most to Vermonters. A sense of community is a blessing nowadays.

I stayed by myself in the Cathedral Room. The room was clean, had nice linens and very comfortable bed. The room was perfect size for one person but might be tight for two. I have never rented just a room so it was a different experience. There is no front desk. Everything was done by email with codes for the front door, elevator and room. It was a bit dark at night at the elevator to the rooms. There is a nice common area but I didn’t see any other quests. The mill is very pretty and large; I didn’t love being there at night by myself. Great place for a couple to stay. Perfect location to explore Middlebury.

This is a great place to poke around, buy some gifts, or indulge yourself in some beautifully curated items while enjoying a lovingly crafted beverage from the Lost Monarch coffee kiosk. Relaxed, friendly, knowledgeable owners and a surprising number of simple pleasures and finer treasures, all under one roof. My go-to spot for cards, books, and unique gifts with a local flair. Plus, a gorgeous Vermont setting and decor that harmonizes with the beauty around it. This place is stellar!

The Stone Mill is our go-to place for fabulous gifts and everyday items, a great cup of coffee, amazing wine, gourmet snacks, pop up markets with local artisans on the weekend...and killer tacos and margs from Mad Taco on the lower level. The outdoor deck and riverside picnic tables are the perfect place to enjoy a conversation and a latte. Beautiful place through and through.

I love spending time in the Stone mill. Si many beautiful things, great smells and I can always find a book that I haven't noticed before. Very much looking forward to warmer weather again when sitting on the couches on the patio with a delicious coffee and a new book makes me feel like I am on vacation on my own town
