Our waitress was very attentive and the bartender made some great drinks. Soup and apps were good. We did not enjoy the seafood crepe, the shepheards pie, or the burger.

Had a good stay, great hospitality. The only issue was they charged us 3x the price upon leaving. It would have been nice to know that we were going to be charged $350 more than the price of our stay. It might of said it somewhere in fine print but was not made aware. Called and they told us it was a holding fee and we would receive it back in a week.

Fantastic service. Very eclectic choice of entries. We were on a Saturday nite, but we had two menu options. The Tavern menu was less expensive but had a good choice of entries. The dinner menu was a bit more gourmet. We had items from both. Mushroom Wellington was delicious. Fish and chips was generous and very tasty Don't leave without sampling desserts.

We had a good size group of us for dinner. The inn is beautiful. We had only one waitress that did the job of what should have been two to the best of her ability. Things would have flowed better with another wait person tho. She was friendly and engaged with us and did great with the children in our group. The prices of course are ridiculously over priced for meals that are small in portion. But we knew that going into it. Most of the food was good. Some had some dry meats, which is really the reason for topping this rating at 3. After we left, we hit up a fast food just to make up for the small portions. Found out that there is more food in a happy meal than what some of us got on our very expensive dinner plate.Might try it again in the future though. If so, I will update my review.

Perfect Inn! Loved the people, the warmth and the dining! Excellent choice for leaf peepers like me! Will be back!

I didn’t realize the historical significance of the Inn when I booked it based on location from RT100 for leaf peeping. Overall, the establishment is in great condition considering the age. The rooms have no TV or radio and have a window air unit. My reason for a lower rating was the carpet. It was extremely dirty. They had 3 different kinds of rugs around the bed, and I didn’t look under them, but the exposed areas were gross. The shower is very small if that could be a concern. We had dinner and breakfast there and they were both really good. The staff was friendly, although obviously short staffed.

We only ate a meal here and I have to say it was the best meal of our trip. The chicken pot pie was outstanding and the service was great. You will be happy if you are lucky enough to enjoy a meal there.Noteworthy details: There is a lovely garden with lots of beautiful flowers.

The Waybury Inn lost the reservation I made in June for February graduation and they are not honoring my receipts or finding me a place to stay. Be wary...

I totally stayed here because of "Newhart," and yes, I'm a few decades less than 70 years old. I had never been to Vermont, and when I had the opportunity to go, I found the Waybury Inn when looking to see if it were possible to stay in the Stratford Inn. It was!You can book online in their website is over the phone. I guess you can use travel sites too, but I like booking direct. I chose the Woodland Room. It had a dancing bear, plaid theme. It was great.Breakfast was very good. People were helpful with suggestions of what to do in the area. I was driving to Maine, so I had limited time. They have some things of interest for fans of Newhart that they'll show you. Bob Newhart is great.

We had reservations for seven and our table wasn't ready so we said we get drinks at the bar. We quickly realized that they only had one waitress, one bartender, and the front manager for the inn. We were seated at a lovely patio and the manager said that she would get us some water and our drink orders. My friend saw drinks on the bar melting so she brought them to the table . two of us ordered eggplant Parmesan. Unfortunately the eggplant wasn't cooked and my friend could stick a fork in it like it was a flag pole. Our waitress was very embarrassed but also thought it was funny. She gave us complementary desserts and coffee the problem with this inn is they were very understaffed and should only be serving their inn guests.

The wait staff is on it! They really know their business and go out of their way to make every visitor feel special. Ambience is really fantastic. Food is great. It should be noted that there are very few ways to cook scallops well and Waybury nailed it. Filet Mignon is fantastic. One last note, if you go and don't get the Maple mascarpone cheesecake, you are cheating yourself. The food is a little pricey but you'll get what you paid for. I went once with my dad and stepmom and then we all just had to go back a week and a half later to treat an out of town friend to the experience.Did I mention the wait staff is great? What a great bunch of people they have on staff. I hope management works hard to keep them happy :)The whole crew over there made both of our visits very special and I can't wait to go again.
