This is a great olive oil and balsamic vinegar shop. You can sample the different oils and balsamic vinegars and if you are lucky enough to be there between 11-2 you can grab a delicious bistro lunch. The fancy grilled cheese was delicious, as was the berries and beet salad with goat cheese. I was even able to get a glass of wine to go with my lunch.

My husband and I love Alla Vita. We buy all our olive, sesame, and nut oils and flavored vinegars there. The lunches are often vegan-friendly and delicious. They're accommodating when I ask them to add, say, hummus, chickpeas, and roasted veggies they have on hand to make my fresh salad into a meal. We brought home a container of white bean dip from their refrigerated selection of greens and a few prepared foods - yum! They've recently expanded the lovely interior and have more tables for eating and visiting, which we'll enjoy if we ever unmask in public places again.

We stopped here since it was recommended by a local. We had passed it thinking they only sold olive oil but we were so wrong. We had turkey and caprese paninis which were excellent! They don't offer a large selection of salads or sandwiches but if the salads are as good as the sandwich definitely give this place a chance.

Alla Vita has some of the best sandwiches, paninis, and salads in Montpelier. Their menu changes weekly so there is always something new and delicious to try. The ingredients are fresh and local too. The staff is always friendly and polite. This is one of Montpelier's best lunch spots! They also sell a wide assortment of fine olive oils, balsamic vinegar, wines, and local Vermont gifts and products. It's a cute little shop that I can't recommend enough.

We first walked right by what we thought was an oil and vinegar shop. When a local saw us looking for lunch he steered us to Alla Vita. Limited lunch menu of salads and sandwiches but what they do have is excellent and changes everyday. Inviting space, friendly staff, great food.

Ordered a head of time so I would not have to wait. They indicated it would be fifteen minutes(15). Which was fine. Arrived, had to wait. Finally got my salad. Paid and went home. Opened my salad container. VERY disappointed. Hardly any chicken(3 very small pieces, no walnuts and just a dash of blue cheese crumbles. Soooo I called. Spoke to a woman who said they had a bad morning, their food delivery truck never showed up, so they had to scale back on putting items in the salad. My question? Why sell the salads full price and not tell the customer. I would have chosen something else! Instead of being very disappointed to say the least!

I cannot express enough how delicious their lunch varieties are! I love that you can make alterations upon request and the menu changes weekly! The selection of wine is outstanding. I was even able to purchase certain wines from Australia that are so hard to find with some help of the owner.100% recommend!

best lunch spot in town!

I thought I would taste the maple balsamic vinegar, buy some and be off. Yes it waa the most heavenly maple infused balsamic ever, so I bought a 375 mil bottle. Clean and beautiful tasting room for olive oils and balsamic but what won the day was the panini. Asparagus and goat cheese with herbs and balsamic vinegar on Red Hen bread was perfectly grilled. My husband's thinly sliced black Forest ham with balsamic caramelized onions and VT cheddar made him want another to go. Inside and outside and to go orders.

Fantastic lunch stop in Montpelier! Fig, chèvre, chicken salad was delicious - both light and satisfying! My partner's Grilled cheese was gooey, tasty, and hit the spot. The service was very helpful, the space was spotless, outdoor seating was delightful, as was the wine and olive oil selection. Perfect!

My favorite store in Montpelier. The owners put a lot of TLC into the store. The staff are nice and helpful in making selections. It's an olive oil and vinegar taproom, and they also have a kitchen that serves soups, paninis, and salads that change weekly. They use the olive oils and vinegars in their lunch salads so you can try some of them. There is no indoor seating, so meals are takeout until summer when they have a small outdoor seating area. They have a nice wine selection. They also have high-end maple syrups and maple products, as well as a selection of locally-made pottery.
