The food was made fresh and was delicious! I had (5) Carne Asada tacos. Could only eat 2 and brought the rest home. Made for a great dinner the next night too! Highly recommend this place. It's attached to a landscaping nursery. You can browse while your meal is being prepared. Very nice ambiance. The service was very good!

Quite simply the best Mexican food in Vermont. Make sure to get their blended jalapeno salsa on the side for whatever you decide on.

Great food, super reliable. I traveled down to the Barre location for years and was thrilled to see them open up a location in Montpelier. Very easy to order online- just pick the right location! The veggie burrito is yummy! The montp location doesn’t have the best dine-in experience (it’s in a gas station!) but it’s perfect for picking up and eating on one of the picnic benches around town, or on the steps to the state house!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are primarily the veggie burrito- it’s delicious, robust! Beans, rice, avo, lettuce, veggie medley.

We love Arandas. Everything is great—we especially love the large mission-style burritos, the enchiladas verdes, and the picatas.Vegetarian options: I often get the vegetarian burrito.

After working here- I wouldn't recommend. First of all, employees don't recieve the credit card tips after being promised tips. Second of all, nothing is made in house except for the guacamole and pico. Not authentic mexican food of any sort. Canned enchilada sauce. Stuffed Polblano peppers come in a plastic bag. The owners have their own sauce they ask for on enchiladas. It tastes much better than what they serve the public. The owners Lu and David are dirty and steal tips from their employees who are Lu's own "people". Not to mention the place is far from up to health code!

When someone might mention "gas station Mexican" they may think of "gas station sushi"---- and they'd be dead wrong. The food was simply fantastic-- authentic, flavorful and creative. Unlike a lot of other "Mexican" restaurants that advertise "real" flavors from our southern neighbor, this place is the real deal. The tamales were excellent and I'd highly recommend the taco sampler. The hot sauce is actually, well, hot and not watered down.Of course-- it's in a gas station, so it's lacking a bit on atmosphere but don't let that stand in the way of a fantastic meal.

Food is OK. Edible but clearly cheap ingredients wrapped up and deep fried. WAY overpriced for what it is.Edit in reply to Aranda's apology:I bought a chimichanga and two chicken flautas. Price rang up at 18.60. My stomach was churning afterward from how greasy it was, but I wouldn't have left a bad review if the total had come out to less than $15. A good price point for what I bought would have been 8-9, reasonable would have been 12-13, and the high end of reasonable would have been 15. You make your own fillings? Great! There wasn't much to be found in my food, which was 80% fried tortilla; that would have been fine... at a more reasonable price point.

I ate at the location in Montpelier in the sunoco this place is awesome! great vibe the aesthetic is wonderful and i went in craving a gas taco. I got the carne asada taco with the rice and refried beans and for vermont this is some of the best authentic Mexican food you can get. I also had the nachos and they weren't what i expected but they were still pretty decent. the picture on the menu just didn't compare to what i received i had expected jalapenos but if this establishment was in burlington el gato would be out of business. I do recommend this spot and they are very friendly and i think it's a perfect place to stop in at. my jacob tastes comparisons: el gato: - wayyyy better el gato is over hyped and j not it to be frank - el gato burps are deadly and this did not have the same effect new world tortilla: - way better customer service new world guy pinched me -new world tortilla - new world is a fraud only eat if u need a friggin laxative

Food was excellent. I had only vegetarian options, and it was all incredibly satisfying. What pushed it over was the hot chocolate - spicy and creamy. Definitely recommend for a hot and quick bite.
