My favorite new spot in Montpelier! EVERYTHING was so good—the service, atmosphere, and of course the food! The place looked and felt welcoming from the moment you saw the twinkle lights and autumn decor out front to the candle lighting and historic charm within. I came on a night when The Deviators were playing, a local bluegrass band, so that kicked the Monday blahs out of the way fast. For apps we enjoyed the mushroom pate and burrata. Both amazing starts. Entrees were the bouillabaisse (which I highly recommend—hearty and chock full of shrimp, mussels, scallops, and cod in the best broth I’ve had outside of San Franciso) and the beef tenderloin (also *chef’s kiss*! So tender and comforting with the mashed potatoes, yet sophisticated with the wild mushrooms. We had some mushroom pate left and spooned some of that over the beef which just melted right in). We finished with the sticky toffee pudding and honestly, I wanted to run over and hug whoever created that. I’m not a drinker but they had a fun selection of mocktails, I had a Cran-gria. This was really one of the best dinners I’ve had in town In a long time and I hope Filibuster Cafe keeps on going with these incredible offerings. My new fave spot and I can’t wait to try everything else!

What's not to love?

The food is delicious. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a full bar menu. Atmosphere is beautiful and cozy with one of the best patios in town and stellar service from an amazing staff.

Beautiful space so happy to see the building open again. With this being said our server was rude and short. As well as aggressive with slamming plates and cups down on the table. The guests next to us had the same feeling of uncomfortable dealing with the server and service. There was no system in place for hosting and calling people to their tables which immediately felt chaotic. Limited menu with no potatoes which felt odd. For a drink a piece and breakfast our bill was $70.

Unfortunately will not be going back.

Spur of the moment decision to go here, not disappointed at all. Walk in party of 2, about 7:30 for dinner. We were sat promptly at a nice corner table. Waitress was great and all staff is super friendly. We ordered some small plates of fried Brussel sprouts and crab " beignets" both were delicious. The crab is more like a fried crab cake, not down playing, still worth ordering. Had wings with honey cider, order them. Ratatouille was good. Toffee pudding with salted caramel sauce. Just get it. I had to thank the chefs the caramel was so good. Cocktails were also balanced and delicious.
Would recommend if you are looking outside of the well known spots in Montpelier, make this spot a regular spot. Great space, good people and from what we had great food. Looking forward to coming back and tasting more of their menu.

You could go here with a small group and get small plates and snack and drink, great social space that overlooks the street at the front of the dining area.

Best breakfast I’ve had in a very long time! The atmosphere and decor is beautiful and the service was top notch. The Eggs Benedict was the best I’ve ever had in Vermont and the espresso martini’s were the best drinks my wife and I have had yet! Friendly staff, good food, and stellar drinks. Highly recommend!

Just came from our first dinner on the deck at Fillibuster on State and Elm. OUTSTANDING ON EVERY LEVEL!! Food was amazing! The service was EXCEPTIONAL. My group of 4 felt truly taken care of. Check them out. Just started dinner service on 9/30 in addition to serving breakfast and lunch. Hurry over while the weather is warm enough to eat outside.Plenty of gorgeous space inside as well. The bartender shared that he changed a customer's tire when she realized it had blown out and couldn't find an open station. Literally... a full service restaurant!!!

Great food for a a descent price, the menu has changed as of a few days ago and they don't make a lot of what was on the old menu, they are so so on substitutions but we're able to make some for my dietary restrictions

Vegetarian options: Can make substitutions and some dishes are exclusively vegetarian

Had lunch there today. The place is about average as far as atmosphere and the food was actually pretty good. My biggest complaint would be the service. The young woman who seated us was very nice but the guy who served us was less than friendly and was borderline argumentative. Oddly, we also got our food before our drinks. Even though we asked multiple times out them. Not sure why a couple of ice teas were so difficult.
