We LOVED this place! From the moment we walked in, we knew it was right up our alley. Eclectic decor, super friendly staff, and a great menu selection. We were all very happy with our meals. Everything was delicious, especially my Huevos Rancheros. I'm originally from Southern California, and since moving to Vermont, good Mexican food has been difficult to find. The Huevos Rancheros at the Filibuster Cafe did not disappoint, and was a taste of home. So good!

Exactly what Montpelier needed. A beautiful breakfast / lunch restaurant! Breakfast is absolutely amazing. Great quality and service.

Gone here several times for lunch. Food is usually good diner-style stuff, but service is extremely lackluster. If you order an espresso drink, there's a good chance it'll arrive at the table long after you've finished your meal. On more than one occasion, I've had to wait well over 30 minutes after being seated for them to take my order. If you're pressed for time, this place is not a good choice.

It has been a long time since I've had an exceptionally good experience dining in Montpelier. Obviously, the floods screwed things up for a bit, but, still, even before that, it has been literally years since I have been excited about a Montpelier eatery. Last Saturday, I went to Filibuster for my mom's birthday. I arrived a few minutes late, to find the manager (Jay) sitting on the banquette next to my mom, talking her through the menu and helping her find things to accommodate her dietary restrictions. A primary feature of the optimal dining experience is that it should feel effortless for the guests. Aside from the delicious food, the best compliment I can give this place is that, once we ordered, everything beyond that just flowed the way it is supposed to--coffee refills, side orders, condiments...we had nothing to worry about, especially thanks to our server Rick. Hugely important is the space itself. I have lived in Montpelier all my life and the old Chittenden bank has been through many iterations in the last 30+ years. This is by far the best designed, most elegant use of space since Capitol Coffee resided there. You must go see for yourself. Well done, Filibuster! Woohoo!

The women that sat us was rude. There were many open tables but she insisted on putting us 6" from another table. She was really rude when we asked if maybe we could sit at another table. The food is expensive for what you get and don't ask for toast with your omelette, it's a $4.25 upcharge. A side of toast is as much as an entire loaf. Instead, for the first time ever, I was served a salad (huh?) with my breakfast omelette. The waiter never checked on us, we had to chase him down to get our check. Bad experience from the minute we got there. I know Montpelier is desperate for restaurants but this place is ridiculous.

We had a fabulous brunch Sunday at the Filibuster Cafe in Montpelier. They make the most amazing pancakes I've ever tasted! The french toast and eggs too! The eclectic decor in the old bank adds to the experience.

I can't believe there's only two reviews on yelp! This place blows wayside out of the water. Everything from the ingredients, the service, the atmosphere, the freshness of the food. All of it is top shelf. I ended up getting the omelette, my nephew the homemade hash and my niece, the pancake breakfast. Service was on point, the atmosphere is exceptional--it's an old bank with vault door and all! They have outstanding coffee, too! Easily our favorite breakfast and brunch place in central Vermont, maybe all of Vermont. Oh, and yes we did thankfully see tourists in here but it is NOT just for them--locals are welcomed!!

I had brunch here with a friend and everything was so amazing! The waiter was very thorough and right on what we ordered and needed, and the food came faster than I was expected. Love how they decorated and did the interior, very calming tones and colors to have a lovely breakfast and or lunch. Highly recommend!

Nice place.Service felt a bit understaffed/untrained. Really nice server ( I think his name was Emrest) took care of us and was great.. Talked a bunch about his dog Tyson. Genuine fun guy. The next few times the other staff members and the barista just didnt make the same impression.☺️.The pastries are delicious. lattes and capuccinos were not really great. Drip coffee was good the first time, the second time it was not really. maybe a different batch? I will skip crafted coffees next time. The place and atmosphere is gorgeous.Music would add a nice sense of calmnessCan’t wait for the outdoor deck in the spring.Wheelchair accessibility: Access to downstairs via a stair lift. There are about 1-2 steps at the entry plus 4-5 in the vestibule.

My friend and I came here for breakfast for the first time today. What a gem! The atmosphere is comfortable and spacious, with natural lighting and dim light fixtures (easy on the eyes). The service was kind and thoughtful - when I told our server Emrys that I was vegan, he took it seriously and assured me that he would let the kitchen know. I was able to order the (delicious) burrito without egg or cheese, and it was no problem. I also ordered a maple oat milk latte, and it was the BEST latte I've had in a long time. I was extremely pleased overall and would highly recommend Filibuster Cafe. :)

This is an amazing cafe within walking distance from hotel and shopping. The service is great and food exceptional. Hint: they bake all the breads serve in house.

Atmosphere, service, and food were 10/10 phenomenal! We enjoyed maple cappuccinos, Vermont breakfast tea, eggs Benedict and steak, and spinach sandwich. Everything was to write home about! We especially loved the side salad with our entree. Wasn't expecting such fresh and delectable food!

We went for the first time today and were totally blown away! The restaurant is beautiful, love the bank vault is still in place, such an amazing space!! We ordered the Florentine Eggs Benedict and Pancake breakfast, both were excellent! Filibuster Cafe is exactly what Montpelier needed, so happy they are now a part of our food scene! We will definitely be back!
