Bright and cheerful.

French onion soup was broth and onions only. Not what I would call French onion and was served Luke warm.

1/2 chef salad with a special order of NO Blue cheese, came out with blue cheese and include avocado mash and not fresh avocados

Steak was delicious.

Coffee and drinks were delightful.

Waitress was very friendly but did not visit our table often.

We used to eat here before the floods and was so looking forward to a great dinner and I doubt we will be returning.

Six of us ate there last night and first the positives. All of the food was excellent. Starters, mains and desert. Steaks, chicken parm, chicken sandwich were all amazing as were the crab cakes, pork belly and Brussels sprouts. Arturo was an excellent server and hit the right tone and attention. I’m unsure what the design concept of the room is supposed to be but it is less attractive and endearing than the original Jmorgan comfort. It is a bit on the bright side with blue lights and looks a lot like a hotel breakfast and launch room. The ever and ambiance is well behind the really great food and service

$18.00 for four (4)! Small-medium sized overcooked shrimp. Ballsy to say the least. Cheese curds were ok and the chicken sandwich was delicious but I could have gotten the same delicious sandwich at many other places for a more reasonable price.
Long story, short this was a disappointing experience.

Unfortunately the steaks were a low grade cut. Fat and gristle were the star of the meal. The atmosphere was dead!, maybe because we’re not far from Canada. I would recommend a diner before this over rated establishment.
What a waste of my money and my appetite .

We stopped here for breakfast (7-10:30a): the steak & eggs breakfast was perfect, as was the Full breakfast.

Service was very good.

I am going to accentuate the positive by stating that the waitress, working the floor alone at 9 AM on Saturday 08/02/25, can work for me ANYTIME! Grace under incredible pressure. At one point I saw her tending 14 tables; one was a large family with small children. I have extensive experience serving breakfast and I have to applaud her composure as she faced that on her own. There were no coffee refills, but she still gets 20 stars, if I could. The food was a step above “okay”. Last night’s dinner service was a step or two below “okay” in both food and service.

I wish I would've checked the reviews before going. We had enjoyed it a couple years ago, but ya, it's obviously changed a lot. The new decor is too bright and like someone said, retirement dining hall feel. I miss the old cozy feel. We had a rez for 5 ppl and when we arrived the table wasn't ready even though they weren't busy. It took the servers a while to figure out and set up a 5 person seating arrangement, which I thought was odd. I should start leaving places where the foreshadowing starts that early. One of us ordered the seafood stuffed sole and it was so mushy. No real sauce with it. The lobster rav was interesting. Sauce seemed fresh out of a jar. The smash burger was really good. Chicken and waffles was reportedly good. Service with Brendan (or Brandon) was ok. He forgot one of our desserts even though he repeated it back to us and when we asked if it was coming out he seemed defensive about not hearing that order. Strange.

A modern bright decor , a friendly
Staff and very quick service. Convenient location in the centre of town.

Adequate for a traveling dinner.

We frequented this place but as many others have noted the decline has been very rapid and is now not worth it at any price. Service was horrible. Food mediocre at best. There are very few good places to eat in Montpelier so losing this one is a night out killer.

Used to love this place, but it’s gone downhill. Desserts were overpriced and disappointing—no garnish, no homemade whipped cream, just bland and lazy. New management clearly doesn’t care about quality.

The food and quality of the service here is the best I experienced in a recent trip to Vermont. Definitely recommend the brussel sprouts for dinner as they are wonderful! The breakfast is equally wonderful! I definitely intend to go here whenever I am back in Montpelier in the future!
