Really wonderful meal! Pricey but you get what you pay for. The lamb chops were perfect and paired well with the zucchini salad. Our whole party of 4 enjoyed their choice of small plates and the service was great! Highly recommended!

It was very dark and hard to read the menu. Scallops were too cold. Steak was good and fries were ok. Service was a little slow. It was too busy.my first time there.

The food is incredibly good, there’s no denying this but the portions are so small. The lamb chops were three extremely small chops very flavoursome. All the food was tasty just not enough for what you pay. Would not recommend, not good value for money in my view

Had the king crudo, gnocchi and wagyu steak. Everything was insane! I have never had a steak like that before. Still dreaming about that meal.

We visited the restaurant for the first time as we are from Boston last weekend. we were celebrating our anniversary. The food and service were outstanding and we were very impressed. Food was thoughtful and well presented, we will be back the next time we visit the area

We made a reservation, arrived on time, and were told that there was “miscommunication,” and our table had been sat already. They asked us if we would be okay sitting at the bar, which we did. Then we waited more than 10 minutes for the dirty dishes to be removed from in front of us and the spot was not wiped. Then, when we did get attention, it took 10 minutes to get our drinks - which was a glass of Prosecco each. When we were asked what we would like to order, the oysters, the bartender smiled and said “we’ve just served our last two orders.” So instead of a raw bar that we cannot experience in our home town, we paid a ridiculous amount of money for two glasses of cheap Prosecco. Very disappointed.

Every bite at Oakes & Evelyn gave me a novel but welcoming burst of flavor. I very much enjoyed every plate and beverage. These are serious chefs at work. I don't remember my server's name, but she was always there when needed. The habanero sauce for the oysters was unbelievable because it had all of the flavor of scotch bonnet peppers, but the heat was just enough. I am not in Montpellier often, but I will swing by here at least once more, and then Savoy Theater around the corner for a movie. I wonder what brunch is like on Sundays...

Being new to VT (and possibly wanting to move here), we were surprised by the flavor profiles at this restaurant. They had to substitute the meat for the bao buns to brisket, but we think it should be a menu item. I personally had a cinnamon toast waffle which I was expecting more taste close to the cereal, however it was light and fluffy so I wouldn't mind having it again. My boyfriend had an Avocado toast which was really packed with flavor and something that even i would recommend.

My husband and I ate there last night for our 20th anniversary. He can be very discerning when it comes to his steak and restaurants in general- but we both loved our dinner! Our server Bri was wonderful and we had a great experience- we’ll definitely be back!!

Overall really really good! The mushroom bao especially - you will not go wrong! Seating outside is a little tight but that might have been specific to us!

My wife and I went there for our Anniversary recently and it was the best meal we've had in years. I can't remember the last time that I went to a restaurant and every single thing they brought to the table was an A+. The veggie bao bun, the salmon, the gnocchi, the desserts and even the drinks were a home run. I causally asked for a coffee at the end of the meal and they brought out a tiny french press to the table and pressed it right there and that was fantastic too. If you like great food that looks great too, do not miss this place. You won't regret it!

The food was easily the best in Vermont. I would suggest the brisket bao as it was some of the best food I have had. The service was quick and the waiters were very good. The atmosphere was nice though the lights were too dark.

Made a reservation in advance and was looking forward to a special night out, celebrating a birthday. The service and appetizers were good. Our main entrees were very disappointing. The chef was a bit overzealous with the seasoning, especially salt. Due to a large party that night, our meals were delayed and once received one entree was ice cold. We were given the dessert menu, but we decided to go somewhere else for our sweet treat. I highly doubt we will be back…it wasn’t worth $250 dollars. Two thumbs down.
