In the northeast you wouldn’t expect such a delicious and authentic Mexican style restaurant. Food was amazing. The tostada and quesadilla was perfect to share with my wife and daughter. My wife also got a pork belly bowl which was so tender, and I got a chicken burrito. Will def come by again!!!

I hate to give bad reviews, but this one I feel I have to. This place has the worse food, nothing has taste. I ordered shrimp taco, didn’t taste like shrimp. I spent $57 and end up putting it all in the trash. There’s nothing Mexican about this place.

Having just moved here from southern California, we were delighted to find this taco shop close by. Good tacos and burritos, and very good salsa. Wish their menu was a bit more extensive and included at least enchiladas, but its nice to know good tacos are right down the street.

We hate to post a bad review and try to make the best of the situation but this is not possible with what we encountered here. We both had burrito bowls. The food was the worst Mexican we have ever eaten. Indifferent ingredients poorly prepared. It should be hard to screw up Mexican food but they managed it here. I believe the pinto beans were just some cheap version and tasted muddy with off spices. My wife found the pork adobo inedible. The rice seemed like it was frozen and reheated several times. I've had fantastic Mexican food in VT and around the country from sit-down to food trucks. This place is in a class by itself and not in a good way.

Not authentic by any means, but this place is surely worth a visit. A taco shop near the Canadian border would've been my last guess. It's a short menu, but with good options. The carne asade was just so-so, but the chicken was pretty impressive. The salsas offered a good range and were flavorful. The chips hit it out of the park. Freshly made, they were just little triangles of often. Highly recommend. Overall, a good bang for your buck.

Vegans rejoice! This little shop cranks out the best Mexican food I have ever had in VT! As a vegan I do not expect restaurants to accommodate my dietary restrictions unless they actively advertise as such, so when my mom invited me to lunch (she goes every week for the fish tacos) I went with the mindset that I would be satisfied with with chips and guacamole. However, once inquiring about possible options I could eat the girl at the counter went above and beyond, helping me to craft a vegan burrito and even checking with the kitchen multiple times to make sure the components didn't have meat or dairy. The chips/guacamole combo alone was absolutely amazing and the burrito she came up with (flour tortilla with beans, sautéed onions and peppers, lettuce and green salsa) completely hit the spot. We went on a weekday around lunch time and it was pretty quiet, there are about 4-5 tables for dine in and plenty of parking. Will definitely return in the future!

Stopped on a visit recently against my better judgement. I was overly optimistic for our food. Super disappointing (but I should've known better having been raised in California and living in large cities where decent Mexican food can be found). The corn was watery, the rolled tacos were dry... we ended up throwing most of the rest of our order away ? I suppose for the area it is the best you could get.The 3 stars is mostly for the woman who helped my husband and kids and was super kind.

Got the Chorizo burrito and my wife got the carne asada bowl. Literally the best burrito I've had in my life. The staff was all really friendly and even the other patrons were friendly. Definitely getting that small town vibe but with phenomenal food.

If you're ever in the Newport, VT area, America's Taco Shop is a must. I've been eating here ever since they opened, then moved away. On my recent visit to Vermont, after being away for a few years, I could not wait to sink my teeth into one of America's burritos. I ordered a Mexicali Burrito, and other members of my family ordered the Carne Asada Bowl, Carne Asada Chips, and California Burrito. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and truly enjoyed the hospitality, Especially after being away for so long, and to be remembered and treated like family, it's certainly a rare thing in today's world.Thank you America, my entire family appreciates you; until our next visit to Vermont.
