Stopped in on a whim, as the Tavern is only about 15mins from my partners house, but we’d never made the time to stop in. We absolutely will be going again. It’s a lovely pub off the back of the Clear River Inn, with gorgeous views of the mountains just out back. Outdoor seating would have been perfect if we had gotten there an hour or so earlier when the sun was still up and it was warm enough. We opted to sit inside in the restaurant area, just outback of the pub area. The staff were super welcoming, quick to serve, and incredibly friendly. The food was excellent. Ok, so you know…it’s pub food, right? But it was better than that. My partner had the roaster butternut squash bisque as an appetizer, and it was fantastic. Each of the apps were. I had a cubano and it was honestly the best one I’ve ever had. A friendly place, with great food, a comfortable atmosphere, that’s close and not too expensive? Yes, please. 100%.

Great spot for lunch outside. Delaney was amazingly helpful and polite. Our group of 6 teenage boys had plenty to entertain themselves in between devouring apps and a meal. After an energetic day at the swimming hole, they still had room for dessert. CRT is on my shortlist of Vermont favorites!
Went here with my girlfriend and got the steak and cheese....all I have to say is - WOW.
Best steak and cheese I can remember having in Vermont. Not only that but was a great place to watch a game and play pool. Two thumbs up.

Had dinner here early September. Great experience! Our server was Lindsey and she truly went above & beyond. I have severe food allergies and she went the extra mile to be sure I could safely eat dinner that night. The food was delicious, I had a burger and it was cooked perfectly. Too often restaurants don’t take the time to care but Clear River did and it’s very much appreciated. It helped make our trip to Vermont a great one. Thank you!
Having eaten at the Tavern in the past, was looking forward to steak, sides and more. Checked menu on CR page...everything looked great. Surprise!!!! Menu now consists of salads, soups, appetizers. I think management needs to update their Menu page. Did not drive 30 miles for finger food.
