Great place for chilling, drinking and eating! If you're staying around Killington for the skiing, it's well worth the drive to this place. Definitely the best tavern we visited in our week here.

A cute find but MAN the food is terrible, and expensive! Overpriced cafeteria-quality foods. Expect to pay over $20 (before tip) for any sandwich/burger and fries. The fries tasted like they had been sitting out for hours. Not fresh!
The prime rib with mashed potatoes and asparagus was one of the most delicious meals I’ve ever eaten. We just happened upon the place as we were driving from Woodstock to Stowe. While we dined outside, the back dining room was absolutely charming. Our server was very friendly and cheerful. Everyone in our party was so pleased and amazed at our good luck at finding such an excellent place.

As we drove through Vermont, we were hoping to find a place for food and beer and discovered Clear Creek Tavern. We have travelled throughout the U.S. , Canada, and Europe and have not had a better meal. The prime rib was perfect as well as the asparagus and mashed potatoes. The wait and kitchen staff were very friendly. I heartily recommend the Clear River Tavern!

Olay locals place off the beaten track near the Killington ski resort. Large bar and indoor/outdoor seating. Mostly burgers, chicken and a few entrees. Overall food was fine. Decent draft and bottle beer selection, along with a full bar. Couple of pool tables and other games, outdoors as well.
