Excellent food. Small menu with seasonal offerings. Many Gluten free options. We went early so we got a table but by the time we left the place was packed

We've been several times, and the food and drinks have been fantastic every time. The small plates and sharing plates are well sized for a couple or a group and cover a range of taste and diet options, so there's something for everyone. The large plates and sandwiches are delicious...I had the bahn mi and it was amazing. Great beer and cocktail list. Worth a drive from Killington to support a yummy, independent restaurant.

I got the Jerk Chicken sandwich and for a drink, a Rhubarb 75. Both were delicious! The sandwich was unique, like nothing I had before.
I will be returning!

If you're looking for something exciting, delicious, different, and completely homemade / homegrown...you've found it. You'd expect a place like this to be a hidden gem tucked away somewhere in New York. Boston or Montreal, but thank goodness it's in Randolph.

This is not your typical sit-down restaurant, so if you go in knowing that then you will be thrilled! 5 stars because the food was absolutely amazing. Some light constructive criticism - I do agree that some bigger portions would be great. I’m the type that almost always has leftovers to bring home, and I don’t expect gigantic ‘Murican portions, but here I had the wheat berry salad and could have eaten 2-3 bowls worth in one sitting. I would have ordered something else in addition if I knew how small it was, so I left still hungry. My fiancé’s pork belly something-or-other was also appetizer-sized (that one was listed under “shareables” and I get now that normally you would order a few and…well, share, but there’s not enough on the plate to do so unless it’s only 2 people and you’re also ordering a sandwich, or you’re ready to throw down a lot more money to get a whole smorgasbord of dishes). I think the sandwiches must be the only entree-sized items, because the meatball sub was big. If you throw that wheat berry mix on a bed of greens, charge $3 more, I feel everyone would win! Full customers, restaurant still profits. The food is also served “tapas style” I saw in a reply to one review, so they make things and just serve each as they’re ready…which is totally cool and your food is fresh and warm, I just wish this was advertised somewhere on the menu or explained by staff. I was finished with my food by the time my fiancé got his, and then had to wait for him to finish before we could get back on the road to go home. Since we weren’t aware of the serving style we didn’t order things that the other would like and want to eat together, to enjoy the “tapas style dining” experience. Not sure when they opened so maybe just some kinks to work out, but absolutely still a 5-star experience because it is rare that I go anywhere and enjoy a dish anywhere near that much. I’m cursed and usually get cold food that has been screwed up in some way. Next time we’re in town we will definitely have to stop by again!

The food was fantastic, but this place needs to consider serving bigger portions. My meal was so small, I could have easily finished three plates of what I had. It was a good time, but I left with my stomach more empty than when I arrived.

Outstanding eclectic menu, from dal to pretzels to jerk chicken, and everything top notch. Creative and delicious cocktails, cozy and comfortable space and service that makes you feel at home. Can't wait to come back.

One of the best meals I've had in the central Vermont area. The jerk sandwich was delicious. The restaurant is simple, cozy and eating here makes you feel like a local. They have a good selection of local beers and fun cocktails.

We just ate a delicious meal at Short Notice, and wanted to chime in on how terrific this place is. The interior is a bit basic, but as it fills up for dinner, it feels cozy and down to earth. The menu is small enough that you are not overwhelmed by choices, but enough variety to satisfy a range of appetites. Everything was great, but the standouts were the cornbread with maple butter, the hummus, and the French onion soup. The only thing that was not to our liking was the espresso and tonic water with lime, which I was interested to try, but didn’t enjoy. Maybe it’s just me. The chocolate chip brown butter cookies we took to go for the ride home were delicious as well. We will be back!

Wow, the food was excellent. We did a four-person takeout and everyone ordered two or three dishes so we sampled a wide variety of dishes and every one was fantastic. Wish you were open for lunch : )

This place is absolutely amazing. Totally unassuming but it’s like going to dinner at your friend’s place, except your friend is an incredibly skilled chef. The flavors are unique and super interesting; the menu choices/changes are inspired; and everything is downright tasty. Very highly recommend. My only hesitation in writing a glowing review is that I selfishly don’t want them to get too crowded! Must have!
