I'm a former local and disliked the urban sprawl. We are visiting from Oregon and my partner had never been to VT, so while sight-seeing in Richmond, we found this coffee shop. The pastry we had was amazing and fresh. We will be back while we are still in VT.

We visited Sweet Simone’s in Richmond, VT on an early Saturday morning as part of our quest to find the best croissant spots in Vermont since moving here. While we haven’t yet found anything that compares to our favorite hangout back in Portland, this charming bakery in the small town of Richmond is definitely winning so far!

The moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a wonderful warmth—the friendly buzz of conversations, people seated close together enjoying their morning, and the steady hum of the coffee machines. It’s cozy, inviting, and exactly the kind of atmosphere you hope for in a local bakery.

The counter is filled with plenty of tempting selections, and we loved that they also offer gluten-free options for those avoiding the “wheat belly” (lol!). We ordered a variety of pastries and treats, and every single item was delicious. The staff is friendly, kind, and patient, and the coffees are excellent—rich, smooth, and the perfect complement to the pastries.

If you’re thinking of taking a little trip out to Richmond, definitely stop by Sweet Simone’s for a coffee and pastry, then enjoy a walk around the town. It’s beautiful, quaint, and truly captures what Vermont should feel like—small-town charm paired with great food. Highly recommended!

We are from out of town and came back every morning because the bagel and lox is THAT GOOD. Fresh and delicious. We loved the maple latte and the pumpkin spice latte as well as some of the pastries. Cute building and the barista asked us about how our trip was going each morning. Welcoming and delicious.

We had a great experience ordering our custom cake from Sweet Simone’s! We corresponded with Emily; she was very helpful and gave timely responses! The baker-decorator did a phenomenal job replicating the exact cake inspiration photo that we provided/requested. It was even prettier and sparkly than what we expected! It was so delicious too! We highly recommend this bake shop, especially for a special occasion cake and/or if you want an exact replication! Looking forward to working with Sweet Simone’s again in future!

Recently, this spot was recommended to me by a good friend while visiting the area. The vibe was great and the food was amazing. Pecan bar was slamming. Dirty Match was on point. I tried going back the next day, but it was closed. Only bummer, but other than that, good times.

I'm here multiple times a week because I adore Sweet Simone's, the crumb cake, the cold brew, the day-olds, and the lovely people who work there.

Unfortunately customer service isn’t something the front end has.

Young gentleman to take our order seemed unimpressed with us only getting case items and not worthy of his time - even though there was no line.

We had bought overnight oats-
Almond, gf V -

Within the first few bites my partner was feeling itchy in his throat - I tasted what we had thought was almond butter (assumption from the labeled “almond” and it tasted like peanut butter- I ran in to ask what the butter inside was and was met with a rude woman after confirming it was peanut butter. I let her know of the concern and that they should be labeled with peanut butter as well and still met with a “yep”. We will not return and such a bummer with lack of any coffee shops around.

Stopped by Sweet Simone’s a few weeks back while in town for a golf trip and happened to catch their Aperitivo event (the oysters were on point). The atmosphere was amazing, the people were welcoming, and the food was spot on.

We made a point to swing back the next morning to try breakfast and pastries, and they were just as impressive. Fresh, creative, and absolutely delicious. They actually had a bagel flavor of bacon/egg/chese which was awesome.

Can’t recommend this place enough. If you’re anywhere nearby, do yourself a favor and stop in. You’ll be glad you did.

Very nice local bakery, with adjacent deli. Baked goods are fresh and delicious. Also offers breakfast sandwiches and overnight oats. This is a busy place, staff hustles with a smile on their faces. The Morning Bun and latte were delicious.

Bagels are very small, saw an employee grab something from a first aid kit and then make my food without gloves. coffee was good, prices are a bit high for the portion
