“When my boyfriend suggested a vegetarian restaurant for date night, I wasn’t sure—but I’m so glad I said yes. Fancy’s is an unexpected gem, bringing incredible flavor, creativity, and heart to a town that rarely sees it.

Every detail impressed me: the food, the service, and the team’s pride in their craft. We tried nearly everything on the menu, plus cocktails, and every dish was perfectly executed.

On my second visit, I called ahead and spoke with someone incredibly kind and patient about the best time to come in. Later, I learned it was Chef Paul Trombly himself! That level of care and involvement shows how deeply the team values their guests.

Both visits were impeccable—amazing food, attentive service, and a beautiful atmosphere. This is dining at its finest: delicious food, thoughtful service, and true hospitality. Fancy’s is a rare treasure—please keep it up!“

“Great meal, service and love being back in that building. Ryan was a great server! We started with NA drinks of Not a Negroni and Damsel in distress, added sourdough bread and a chicory salad to lead us into the chicken and green beans and a plate of homemade squash raviolis. Everything finished off with the olive cake with strawberries. This place was as advertised!“

“What a gem! Portions are generous- definitely come hungry. The prices are very fair considering the quality of the food. While the selection of California wines is a bit limited, the Italian wine list more than makes up for it with some great finds.

The highlight of the night was the osso buco-absolutely melt-in-your-mouth and packed with flavor. Hands down one of the best Italian dishes I've had in Vermont. Highly recommend“

“Such a wonderful little joy in the middle of downtown Burlington! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The food is absolutely fantastic. I had an appetizer special that was delicious...roasted & grilled baby delicate squash with whipped goat cheese, dash of honey & toasted pistachios. Mark our bartender/server was so gracious and friendly.
My only request would be of offer a nice non-alcoholic wine.“
