From the beginning Liane and the team’s communication was swift and professional with us, our venue, rental company, DJ, and photographers. Our tasting was adjusted to trial the hors d’ouevres we hoped to have and the day of team did a remarkable job setting up our tables and serving a fantastic meal. They offered recommendations on meal options for all of our guests’ dietary needs and were sure to keep us as the bride and groom catered to. We cannot recommend them for their food and their service enough!

The food was phenomenal and everyone had more than enough to eat. My personal favorites were the hot honey fried chicken skewers and the steak - cooked perfectly. Let's Pretend also made us egg sandwiches for the after party which were delicious and the perfect late night snack. Many of our guests said that it was the best wedding food they had ever had!
During the cocktail hour and reception, the Let's Pretend team was very attentive to my wife and I. They provided our own personal server during cocktail hour to make sure we got as many apps as we wanted. At the reception, Liane checked in a few times to make sure everything was good and we had all the food we wanted. We did not get to eat as much as we wanted at the reception because our guests kept us busy talking, but the next morning, we found multiple takeout containers of leftover food in our fridge: Let's Pretend had boxed up the leftovers for us so we could enjoy our wedding food the next day! It was the perfect amount of food to hold us over until we left for our honeymoon 2 days later.
Our reception was at a venue that did not have its own kitchen; Let's Pretend seamlessly handled the setup and take down of their portable kitchen, and also provided their own serving plates/utensils. Let's Pretend is super easy to work with and very responsive.
We did a tasting at their kitchen in South Hero several months before our wedding. Liane made us feel right at home and we ate so much amazing food.

First, the food is AMAZING - our wedding guests told us it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. In addition, the staff was extremely well organized, professional, and so helpful. They made a little plate of the appetizers for my husband and me so that we could taste all of the food despite being very busy with photos during cocktail hour. They are also just clearly so experienced and ran a very smooth operation (we didn't have a wedding coordinator and it was not an issue at all). They even went above and beyond and gathered up all of our decorations after the reception had ended. I cannot recommend them enough!

She helped me design our table layouts, went back and forth countless times until we found the perfect menu for the weekend, handled the order of all of our rentals, went for a site visit with me to design general decor and layout, and was just there for every single question I had. She is such a masterful expert at what she does, we're so lucky we got to work with her! Onto the food-unreal. Everyone was talking about how delicious everything was. People went back for seconds and thirds and tried everything they laid out. Liane was so flexible with my vision for the food (we ended up doing carving stations with sides and salads at each). I wanted creative food presentation and they. absolutely. delivered. I was blown away with how gorgeous everything looked-almost too beautiful to eat (almost ;)) They collaborated with Lauri (the owner of our venue-The Barn at Boyden Farm) to orchestrate the flow of the day and everything went so smoothly, we couldn't have asked for anything more. We had Let's Pretend do an all-vegetarian buffet for our wedding, with vegan and gluten free options. Most of our guests were not vegetarian, but everyone raved about the food. Several people said that it was the best catered food they'd ever had. The team was also fabulous to work with. Before and after the tasting, they worked with us to make sure we were 100% happy with our menu, even working around some issues with availability of oven equipment from our rental company. Day-of, everything was served beautifully in accordance with our woodland theme and at the exact right time without me having to do a thing.
