Nice local, dog friendly spot. Food is fine except for the soggy fries. Once it a great while they'll be cooked properly only to be soggy piles of mush again the next time. We keep going back but it would be nice if they could nail down how to properly cook what is likely the best selling menu item.
We’ve been traveling to the Islands for 25+ yrs so we are very familiar with the area. What’s to like? Ideal location on rt 2, lots of parking, roadside food, ice cream and a nice gift shop attached. Plenty of outdoor seating. The “meh” stuff? Fries were overcooked, hamburgers ok, but the wait for 2 burgers and fries was insufferable (with only a few customers waiting). That was the buzzkill.
Excellent burgers. Crispy edges charbroiled, moist. No frills. Good price. Fries are yummy, if you like authentic fresh cut fries with caramelized exteriors. Maple soft serve (creamies) are the absolute best. Favorite stop for Grand Isle Ferry travelers.
